Friday Excursions Our on a Rheinfahrt

The program has came to an end. Well the learning german part anyway. I am attached to a professor in the university for 2 weeks of work and that means no more free afternoons! This is pretty shitty given the fact that the best time to take a day trip out to another city or town is the afternoon after your lessons, since lessons just last through the morning. Half the number of people will be leaving to travel or to go back home. The weather here is getting better and better! That means that it is about time for me to go swimming again! Other than the fact that I am starting to feel my pocket is getting smaller, everything else is just fine! Anyway.. This is just to continue on my 2nd week programme. We will usually go on a excursion on Friday, which means that there will be no lessons on Friday! Which is pretty good, as my brain can’t really take another word in german! It is hella lot of words to remember and apply! Plus you will have small test here and there. The only good thing is that I have the best teacher among all the classes! No other classes will have teachers that will help them to learn through playing games and role play! Plus it is the only class where English questions are allowed! For some reason, this post which is supposedly earlier is now later.

Awaiting our ride at the harbor port in koln… Yes.. The weather ain’t exactly what I will call good.. But it is almost as good as it gets during these week.. The weather is cold and I was simply too stubborn to bring out my jacket.

We are on our way down the river Rhine. Not the best of weather to go on a 2 hour cruise up the river rhine with no seats to seat down where it is sheltered. The designer of this particular ship is really smart to designate the inside space to restaurants! So you got to order something if you would like to seat down inside. Not the very best of situations when it is raining outside like now.. Picture taken with Joe. One of the dudes from WPI. I forgotten what does the school stand for.

Everyone freezing outside in a slight drizzle and eating all the food before lunchtime even arrived! The best thing to do when you are cold is eat.. get fat.. and hope the insulation helps! Haha! If you think that they are busy Sms-ing, you are hopeless

Interesting name for a town! Ass- Man- Hausen! I don’t know what is Ass in german so I shall leave it as it is.. So translated by me will become, ass man house! The best thing is that they write it so big and put it on the banks of river rhine so that everyone can see!!

We have finally reached the koblenz port where we are supposed to climb a hill to the castle at the peak! That was one bloody tiring hike I tell you.. The rain stopped for a while but made the ground so wet and slippery. It was bloody dangerous and hard to climb the hill without falling! The best thing is that the tour guides didn’t take us up a paved road which was just a little further away! But the view from the top is really great

This is the castle. We are supposed to do this scavenger like thingy, where you will go around to find German description of that particular area and do a presentation. One, the place was dark and we didn’t have a torchlight and I twisted my ankle. Two, the description plates were really hard to find and the roads were slippery and we got a crappy map..

This is the part of the trip that is really worth it! All the groups were supposed to use aluminium foil and vanguard sheets to dress up one person in the group as a knight! This is the result of what happened after we dressed them up with aluminium foils! The best thing is that they will fight with each other! Which all the aluminium foils will drop and reveal all their insides! The guy with the beer belly and an armor that looks like a dress.. is the guy from our group! Haha! Seriously.. I think we dressed him up more like a troll than a knight!

Typing this out in a train station! Man the only thing I hate about European countries is that they smoke a lot down here and apparently no one around you will get affected.. Because all the bloody germans are all smoking their guts out! The only people that are innocently affected are the tourists like me! Well, I don’t really mind smokers, but smoking legally in all places like trains, stations, even in shopping centers! Well.. all in all, Germany is still a really nice place!

Lindau: the weekend trip out!

This is the morning that I depart to landau from Darmstadt hauptbahnhof. The weather, still really cold out here.. But feeling quite excited to tour around the town that many have said it is really beautiful!

When I got there, there were plenty of people like standing around the railing looking out!

Yepz. That is what it looks like. They are having this event, where they will put aeroplane looking things on top of the ramp and let it roll down the ramp, and see who will fly the furthest. Seriously, I stayed through almost all the flights, all of them fly almost the same distance, which is like 3 meters from the end of the ramp! Good job on trying to fly far mates!

The entry gate to the port of landau. I would love to take the cruise to visit the surrounding, but I am short of time and short of money. One cruise cost about 12 euros! And I don’t think it is that worth it to go around the island in this weather.

This is what it looked like from the other side of the port. All the people gathering around looking at a plane bound to crash in the water and giving huge applause! All the sadistic germans. The cool thing though, was not the plane thingy flying into the water, but the fact that I could more or less what the emcee was trying to say over the mike!

Because after he got out of the water, I saw like 5 bottles of beer in front of him! I mean, that’s the culture of the germans! Woo hoo! All the beer that they have since they are kids must have screwed up something in their brain..

This is the coastline of landau.. It actually resembles our beloved sentosa in Singapore! Seriously! Either that or pulau tekong for the BMT.. One of the this.. But I will prefer sentosa!

Street of landau. Not many people, but this street is filled with shops of all kinds on both sides of the road. And the pedestrians simply bochup any cars that go through here.. It is amazing the number of roadkills in germany is still that little! I am super glad that I am a pedestrian over here and not a driver =)

A convertible mini cooper! They have a car exhibition over there. Apparently, there is always a car exhibition when there is an event in whatever events there are! I am not gonna complaint! I like nice looking cars!

Leaving back towards Darmstadt again. Well, it is almost 9 already. The sun starts setting over here in germany at aroung 9.30 and even at 10, the sky is still blue! Dark blue.

Interesting stories that I have heard from other people! Firstly, you can still get an accomodation even without any available hostels! Simply just go drinking, and apparently, someone might offer you to stay over at their house for a night! Secondly, a guy got drunk, wallet got stolen, and found out that his credit card as an additional 1500usd to his bill!

After 1 month of exchange in germany

I have been in Germany for 1 month for an exchange to Darmstadt... Everything has been fun so far! I feel that I have been pretty lucky so far for all the trip to other parts of germany and manage to meet up with the festival in that city! Like I met up with munich's birthday when I was in munich and I met up with the sea air flight festival when I was in lindau and of course, not to mention the 4 days of heinefest in Darmstadt!

Through this trip, i realised Europe is more fun to travel in when you know a little bit of their language. For me would be German. I have the opportunity to learn and speak german at the same time over here! I wont say that I can speak a proper sentence in german now.. But I can still get by if the waiters in the restaurant speak slowly and try to keep it as basic as possible =) I also learnt that the more you drink, the better is your german speaking! Not to say that you will not scare the hell outta the people around you first!

School is pretty cool! Other than the fact that I get to learn a little bit of german, to help me get around germany with lesser trouble, I have a great bunch of people learning together with me in germany! If you thin that learning formulas are tough, wait till you try out learning it in german! It is one hell a feat! I usually sleep at least once in the class! I have a great teacher, but I just don't have a long attention span.. The best thing about after school is discussing where to go after class! Afterall, lessons are in the morning and you can have the afternoon and night to yourself! Plus I have a really cool host family! Other than the fact that she has 2 really tao1 children, and 1 really shy eldest. The house is great, with a nice garden with a pond and everything! I even learn how to make pizza from scratch!

Munich still remains as my favourite city in germany! On top of its cool structures, great beer, marvellous food and all the great sights, the other factor that I like munich a lot is actually the hospitality that Hwee see and her sisters have shown me! I am glad that she has given birth to her 2nd daughter! The baby has finally decided to come out afterall after all the delays! I think I can never get sick of all the good food and beer and nice cars that munich has to offer!

Frankfurt is really great! It is not like the typical kind of cities where you will find all the skyscrapers trying to fight whose building is taller! If not tall enough, make sure you add a big ass antenna at the very top of your building to win the race! Just like sears tower in Chicago! Afterall, height of the building is not dependent on the number of floors you have in the building, it is dependent on how high is the highest point of the building!

Heinefest is a festival that is pretty cool when you really get into the spirit of celebrating! Until now.. I still do not know how did it come about and who is the festival remembering. The only thing I know is that it is an Oktober fest like event that is held in darmstadt, beer will have a higher quality during this period of time and the central downtown area will suddenly be really crowded on a sunday! Also, this is the time that most probably you will get pretty high from drinking and all the partying! This is also the time when you will run out of money really quickly but it is also the time that you will be digging for money from everywhere, like collecting bottles (you actually get paid really well by going to pubs to collect bottles and returning them for 0.50 euro) like a garang guni man! All the things that you will do! even become those Hobos that are looking through the trash!
My host mom was like going.. YOU SHOULD GO FOR THIS FESTIVAL! VERY FUN!... Didnt really quite get it until she mention the part bout it is a drinking fest! Like Oktober fest but cheaper!

Berlin is pretty cool! It has some cool structures and I don't think I will ever get bored of looking!! I have to say that I have tasted the worst sausage and fries here though.. The sausages are way too crispy and have a really bad smell to it and the fries just taste of oil... It is a city in the day and by night.. the lights in berlin makes it look like a small town.. There is seriously not a lot of lights! You can't relly explore around! But the night life here is pretty good! i just went for pub crawl and get to know lotsa crazy americans! I also got the chance to meet up with some brits! They start to get drunk on the 2nd stop! How do you know whether they are drunk or not!?! When they start to sing loudly and you just cant understand it but you know that they are definitely out of tune and start to push people around to get more drinks... they are drunk =)

Things that I have encountered in berlin.. I got a free house drink from this chinese restaurant and a whore tried to pick me up...

It is one month already and my exchange is halfway through... In another months time.. I will be back in singapore and another 2 more weeks, I will be on my way to UIUC again! can't wait to get back to UIUC! And begin another year of crazyness!

2nd Week: Still learning basic german..

Nothing really happened during the second week.. Other then for the school lessons that are on going everyday that are getting tougher and tougher.. I don't really remember what happened on what day.. so I shall just put everything I can remember in for the 2nd week...This is what happened from the Monday to Thursday of the 2nd week.. This is the period of time that I have not entered into the compulsive drinking days yet! haha! It is really nice to drink with your friends over here and apparently, people around you start to speak better german when they are drunk! Weather for the 2nd week.. Still soo cold.. Cant get around without a jacket and it is raining almost every single day!

The only good thing is that it has lots of space for you to play in !
We came here to play frisbee!

It is like every single german will own a dog.. And the strange thing is
that they do not like you to touch their dogs.. Either that or they are
so racist to feel so unhappy whenever a chinese came over to pet their
dog.. I am not the one to pet the dog arh! haha.. But the dogs are
smelling each others ass.. wisest things to do..

MUNICH AGAIN OVER THE WEEKEND

It has been the heinefest in darmstadt this few days! It means, lots of drinking and partying and almost getting drunk! I already know a few people that has been getting drunk during this few days! They are really fun when they get drunk! They will be doing all sorts of crazy things and almost every word that comes out of their mouth will become something funny or a joke! haha! I love heinefest over here! It is like the best time that I got in the whole exchange so far! I got to drink bavarian beer, though they do not come very cheap, but nonetheless, I don't mind paying lots to drink good beer! Haha! German learning has become a lot tougher with some small test here and there but on the whole it is still really really fun! You will have your lessons in the morning until lunch time, then you will be having your own time to hang around town, take a swim(not in this bloody cold weather though.. it is like winter over here!).

My planned itinery for the weekends here will be like this..

1st week: munich
2nd week: lindau
3rd week: heinefest
4th week: rest from berlin trip
5th week: amsterdam
6th week: munich
7th week: spain
8th week: singapore

Time here is passing really really fast... It is kinda sad that all the
strawberries have been picked.. So there is no more strawberries
picking for me anymore.. But doesn't matter! I will be going back to
drink in heinefest tonight again!

1st Weekend: MUNICH!

Thats me posing at the tram station in front of my host family's
house before leaving for the main train station in darmstadt. It
is bloody early in the morning and the sun is already up! It is
bloody cold and the train is not coming! I am already falling
asleep at the tram stop!

Lunch in Munich! The thing that I have not eaten for sooo long!
Thats schweinebraten with sauerkraut salat and a long glass of
weissbier... We decided to have our lunch at weisses brauhaus.
The dish is a lot like roasted meat wif a beer gravy on top of it!

The BMW headquarters that is in munich! It is one hell a big building
that is still undergoing some construction here and there.

This is the BMW museum. Don't expect to find any of those cool
looking cars that you find on the road like Z4 andstuff like that. I
actually thought I could find cars like that over here.. I was wrong
man.. I only found the cars that are the really old models. The latest
was only up to year 2000. But it is really cool! You get to know that
BMW (pronounced as Bae M Vae here) produced bicycles before!

This is the olympics tower in munich. There was some kind of
festival going on in the area. There was a lot of people and tents
and all sorts of events going on. I never knew that there was an
olympics held in germany before!

Dinner! This is the part that I have missed the last time here in
munich! The ribs and beer from taxis garden. This is a beer
garden that serves really good beer and food! I felt full.. But
I still ate a lot!

Dineer with hwee see and her family. I got to see all her sisters again,
which is really nice! They have been very very hospitable to me in
this visit and the last few! Even when I was in geneve! Those are the
big pretzels that you will find common in oktober fest on the tray!

the weather is great that day! Sunny with nice wind blowing!
The top was also filled with many people! All here to celebrate
Munichs birthday that day! To get to the top of this tower, you
gotta climb 306 steps! Counted all of them!

all worth it! Though there was a lot of squeezing around the top due
to the number of people who decided to all climb the tower at that
time!

People were dressed up for the Munichs birthday! I got to see a
lot of people dressed up like the old times and walking around the
streets that day! There were plenty of tents being set up to sell
lotsa beer, wurst and accesories.

There were people that were dressed in this and parading down the
streets with guns and a flower sticking out of the barrel. It is even
interesting to find that some of them are like slacking in a corner
drinking lots of beer. It is amazing how the germans can drink for
the entire day without getting a little bit of tipsy or even look like
they have been drinking for the whole day!

Tables and benched were being setup in every single wide open area
to sell beer and lots of food to people! It gets seriously hard to travel
through the city that day.... But.. it is really nice to be drinking in this
atmosphere! There used to be chestnut trees all around a beer garden
to provide shade for the people drinking instead of like out in the open.
But they like the sun anyway..

I have no idea what the people are doing. But in the middle of all the
festivals and stuff like that.. People are building houses in the midst of
all the people walking here and there! Somehow.. I think this have
something to do with the tradition for Munich's birthday.

Englischer gardens.. Everyone is coming out to enjoy the sun!
Especially when it has been rainy and cold for the past few days..
Of course they will take the chance to come out and enjoy the sun
and the nice weather.. With or without any clothes! I got to see
some doing naked sunbathing..

The last time I came here.. The tower is not open, it isn't now
either. But the number of people around drinking in all the 3
beergardens around the tower is really people mountain people sea!

Haha! can't help it! I like nice looking cars! And the number of nice
looking cars here in germany is aplenty! This is one of them from
Alfa Romeo! Man.. by sitting at the bus stop, you get to see a lot of
expensive cars like mercedes and porsche and lamborghini and
BMW!

Went to visit the residenz platz again. But this time, I didnt have
the time to visit inside the residenz.. But it was nice to visit munich
when they are having a festival, especially when the weather is so
good!

Hope to have a nice weather in Berlin next week! From the looks of
things, it is gonna be fun! with visits to beergardens and water parks!
There will even be like a scavenger hunt as well! It will be soo cool!
Can't wait to hit the road! Going to Saalburg to see the Roman ruins
tomorrow! Will try to update again ASAP! I need to keep writing to
have something to write about for my report back in UIUC....

Germany Exchange!

It has been a long time since I last blogged.. Well.. I am going to go back to

Germany again! This time I am going to germany for 2 months for a culture

exchange, with 2 weeks of internships and 1 week of travelling included..

I will try to keep up writing the stuff about what I am doing in darmstadt

and seriously hope that I will not get bored halfway.. or else I will not know

what to write as a report when I get back to UIUC. I kept on like writing on

this blog post.. but it is never completed! Oh man! Why is the uploading of

pictures over here so slow.. I am taking such a long time to upload the pics..

Anyway.. I am haivng such a good time over here in Darmstadt! I think I

made the right choice on choosing germany instead of china the other time!

And the teacher here is so good.. I am now able to speak a little bit of german!

But the only thing is that the people ehre just speaks a little bit too fast to

understand.. Haha.. And I think they are laughing at my german from behind =P

Day1:

Well.. There isnt much to write about the flight to frankfurt from singapore.

It is the same old same old.. 13 hours worth of flight time.. so what else can

you do other than to sleep! With my host meeting me in the airport, she took

me to her house! Here are some pictures of the living conditions!

This is my room! Big and spacious! Though it is partioned by
curtains, it is still pretty big.. plus.. I get my own internet and

private attached toilet! Plus.. I realised that I have one of the

nicest places amongst the rest! I have a nice big room all to

myself with a big bed! The host is very very nice as well!

This is the garden outside the host's house! She and her husband are quite

a botanist! She was like explaining all sorta stuff that you could do to make

the plant grow better and stuff like that! They have a really nice garden!

DAY 2: Time to visit around!

This is the centre of the entire town of Darmstadt. It is the luisenplatz!

The huge pillar is like a memorial to the duke of the area.. Duke Ludwig.

Come to think of it.. It is nothing special when you have to go through it

everyday in order to get back home. And there was one night that I have

to freaking wait for an hour for the FREAKING tram that FREAKING

doesn't come in the FREAKING cold weather and FREAKING late time!

And it is not due to no more trams!

This is the marketplatz.. As you can see in the picture.. It looks like a

market, sounds like a market.. So it is a market! With the people selling

vegetables on saturday mornings! It is pretty cool when you have people

selling stuff like this instead of the normal wet market that we get in

singapore that you gotta wake up at some god forsaken hour in the

morning to go to a wet and smelly market!

The first beer I had in Germany since I have arrived and thats good!

It is from the Rautkeller Brauhaus! It is a german weissbeer( white

beer.. but not that white I suppose) Have been waiting for a year to

taste the sweetness of the water again!

For dinner.. There is always the trustworthy and cheap and good food!

Yesh.. It is back to eating kebaps again.. Can't help but to love it! It taste

good! Not to mention that it is not the most healthy food that you can find

in europe, but the taste is enough to compensate for it!

This is the Hundertwasser Haus.. Which means hundred water house.. It is

strange cos I didn't get to see a lot of water in it.. Perhaps it means that there

is just a hundred sinks in it or something like that.. But this is the last building

anything that is squarish.. so this place has no corners! So much for furniture

friendly condition when trying to sell this place out..

Manling! The singaporean that happened to apply for the same program as

I have.. And since we were the only 2 people around.. So it is time for self

potraits! Not too bad a skill huh!?!

Happen to find this car outside the hundertwasser haus! Haha.. Can't

really resist but to take a picture together with it! It is a Lotus: elise!

Freaking nice.. Freaking small.. I dun think I will be able to even fit in

it! But the car is seriously stylish! And EX I think..

DAY 3: School started!

School has started.. But like all the schools.. the first day is orientation!

That means a lot of paperwork and bringing you around and lotsa boring

stuff.. There I am looking bored...

when I was waiting for the rest to come back to meet us..

DAY 4: lessons started..

School has started.. Let the german learning begin.. There is a huge

amount of vocabulary to remember and their grammars are weird.

There is still lots of work to be done.

It is the time for flower blooming and sweet lavender fragrants in the

air! This is taken outside our class building.. So much for summer.. The

weather is bloody hell cold over here.. It is a bloody 13 degree celcius in

the day! Which is freaking cold in the summer! Who ever hear of having

the same temperature in the summer of germany and winter of california.

The sundial in the garden is not exactly working very well..

savings into consideration.. But the good thing is that the

gardeners have planted all the flowers and make the garden

nice and fragrant!

DAY 5: Frankenstein castle

This is one the way up to berg frankenstein (which is castle frankenstein in

english) The hike up is not as bad since the weather was very good that day!

Plus it was cooling in the forest and I needed the hike up the hill.. I was

gaining a little bit more weight..

This is how castle frankeinstein looks like. Does not look a single bit like the

sinister looking castle in the movie.. With all the weird looking instruments

top bring the monster back to life... But according to the people here.. The

castle is there for at least 1500 years already!

Finally.. Made it to the top of the frankenstein castle! Bloody high lar.

The weather up here aint that good either.. It was really really bright

and I could hardly even get a good picture over here! But nonetheless..

I have gotten to the top of the tower, so must find a nice spot and then

take a look at the view from the top and to relax. It is really windy

and nice up here =0)

I was enjoying while taking a good and well deserved rest! Together with

water and haribo gummi bears, It was marvellous! Kevin, Manling and me

spent something like 1 hour up here just talking! If only there was beer up

here... ahhhh... Slurp slurp... Haha.. kevin drank finish allthe beer when we

were hiking up here! No water breaks along the way.. but lotsa beer rest!

DAY 6: Excursion to Frankfurt!

Here we are in frankfurt. A afternoon excursion for the summer program

to visit some of the landmarks in frankfurt! Haha.. Excursions are great!

Thats me and kevin looking forward to the trip! We are in frankfurt

already btw...

This a tower overlooking Frankfurt.. I forgot what is the name of the

building, but I know that it is like one of the tallest building in Frankfurt.

building in chicago is higher! But the view up here is nice!

This is the old opera house in frankfurt! They say that there is

about 500 shows in this theatre a year! That is like more than

1 show in one day! Which is like pretty cool! I think I like the

building better! Plus there is a lot of places around that sell beer!

the break... which I had a dunkle and a Bratwurst! Yum Yum!

This is the Rauthaus of frankfurt.. Which is the townhall.. It is

pretty old but I think this is one of those auntie touristy places..

Cos I see that there are plenty of aunties and uncles around taking

pictures and all the restaurants around looks like it is prepared for

the tourist..Haha.. I am a tourist too!

This is like one of the most prominent buildings in the area due to the

height! This is like quite an interesting dom.. Cos all the doms are

supposedly to have one bishop... but not this one..

Hahah.. This is like what I did during the 1st week I was here..More or less

bah.. I will try to keep up on writing on my trip in europe.. This is like the

3rd week liaoz.. And I only started writing up on the 1st week.. haha!

Still got lotsa things to go! I have go go joggin now... And prepare to go

to mainz tomorrow! There is also the heinefest that will be starting from

tonight! There are like plenty to see and play! woo hoo! I will try to update

CURTIS ORCHARD: APPLE PICKING

After all the mid terms and exams and quizzes, which I think I did better than before,
I finally get a chance to take a break! haha! Wasn't in such a good mood for the last
week due to all the datelines and things to plan and do and exams and stuff! Plus I
havent been exercising! So must go and exercise someday! Especially when the
weather is so good nowadays! It is like 21 degree celcius with lotsa wind blowing! which
makes it extremely cool!! This is calle dspring! Anyway I am gonna put up a late post from curtis orchard!

Haha, I look weird.. Just woke up from the 30 min car ride from the campus. It was so
sudden! I suddenly got a call in the morning asking if I would still like to go to the
curtis orchard! OF course I would like to! The only downside was that I only had like 4
hours worth of sleep the previous night! Hence explaining the tiredness. The first apple
that I actually find on the orchard! I understand that this is suppose to be an apple farm,
but with all those people coming to pick finish all the apple from before, I am lucky to
have found one! haha! The rest of the apples were like rotten on the ground!

My effort in trying to find an apple in this bloody big orchard! I even have to like
bash throught trees!! ( army term for overcoming the obstacle) haha! The only
thing that I realised later about why I couldn't see any apples is because they
were all green! and well camouflaged behind all those leaves on the trees! haha!
Nope, the were simply red apples that aren't ripe yet. If you looked closely, you
will see that there is actually a lot of green small little apples that are behind me!
Not those big red apples that you usually find on the market.

All the freshmen that were travelling together with me in the orchard! Never comb hair
after waking up plus strong winds = messy hair!! haha! all of us got really bad hair day
that particular day! Taking a break from all those walking through the orchard and
picking apples. The thing is that it is free to go in and pick apples and eat it in there! the
only thing is that you gotta pay when you come out with their apples.

The long stretch of trees behind me are all apple trees! Yes. Now you know how
long I got to trek before like finding a ripe apple that is actually fit for eating! haha!
But it is an interesting experience! If this was in singapore, the farm would have
gone bankrupt liaoz! Cos everyone will just come here to pick fresh and good apples!
The only bad thing is that I came too late in the season, when all the apples are starting
to fall for autumm.

Our harvest for that particular day! haha! We plucked them down not to eat, but to
take pictures! haha! so bad of us huh!?!? haha! Most of them are also those apples
that you get to see on the ground ones! haha! Maybe it is the leftover from the last
group of people that did exactly the same thing as we did, just that they got more
apples to pick from the trees! haha!

This is the pumkin patch of the orchard! Where they would all grow pumpkins! as
the name suggest! as halloween is pretty near by, most of the people already took
away most of the pumpkins( nope , not to make pumpkin pastries) for carving
into those pumpkin head! haha! Outta boliaoz ness, I took a jump! And took a picture
of course! haha!

ME weihong and xinning seating at the place where they are selling pumpkins. It is
seriously a sea of orange lar! And all those just to carve pumpkin heads.. Hiaz.. so
americans tend to waste food a little bit for the sake of fun! haah! I have no idea
what the statue behind is doing, so dont ask!

Ok! My physics lab is about to start liaoz.. So i gotta go for my lab! haha! It is just 4
more days to spring break! We will be driving up to smokey mountains for whitewater
rafting, horseback riding( I hope), go cart racing, treking, nwuahing and all sort of fun
stuff!! I will try to post it up when I get back from smokey! I love going on roadtrips!

REUNION DINNER IN THE STATES!

Chinese new year was over last sunday.. But yes, We still managed to have a chance
to have a reunion dinner together during chinese new year eve!! And of course, we
had steamboat! haha! It has been a super long time since I last had steamboat for
reunion dinner. But hey! It is pretty cool to like have a reunion dinner with your
friends, especially when I was like sweating like nobody's business lar! haha!

My table... Feeling super full from all the steamboat dinner! haha! But we still had
lotsa food left over.

The freshman batch! We had all the good food and look at all our happy faces! haha

Dammit man.. tomorrow got 2 german quizzes but I don't even feel like studying for

it!! arghh!! Anyway i think I am gonna change the german course into a credit non

credit course.. So if I go for all the lessons, I get 30pecent! I pass up all the homework

I get 15 percent! And all I need to do is not to fail to badly in any of the exams, then I

will be able to get the credit liaoz.. Now it is just waiting for the stupid Ipeng office

to actually register me for the course, so I can change the credit.

It has been pretty busy for me lately, as usual, all the exams and midterms and quiz period. Hence resulting in weeks after weeks of piahing and mugging... It is sad.. but Spring break is coming up liaoz.. so basically get to go up to the mountains to whitewater raft, horseback ride, drive a go-cart, hike and most of all, get to hang out with all the friends in UIUC. I will try to post a new post up as soon as possible ( meaning when I am super sianz...) Cant there be another Snowday!?!?

Snow days are over and school has resumed back to normal. All the exams and
quizzes that you gotta study and prepare and all the work that I have to catch
up on.. Well.. at least one thing i found that is interesting on TV here in the states
is what will you get when you combine both mentos and diet coke! They actually
conducted experiments here and concluded that only the combination of diet coke
and mentos will create the most amount of fizz!! haha Enjoy

SNOWDAY!!! NO CLASSES TODAY!!

Wah.. Yesterday, before I slept, I felt like shit.. lab and midterms today.. plus all the
weather forecast bout it going to have a really really big snowstorm.. meaning got to

thread through the snow.. but this morning i woke up.. I saw many many msn msg

telling me they have no classes today!! I went to the uiuc website and check it out!

guess what I saw

YESSSS!!!! NO SCHOOL TODAY!!! WOOHOO!!! haha... then I started wondering

if there is still any mid terms or not.. more or less immediately, a message came in

YEAHHH!!!! Especailly when I haven started really studying for it!!! haha

this is what it looks like right now outside!! super thick snow!! and i can hardly

open the door to go out!! cos the snow is there!

looking at all the work i have on my table... hiaz.. looks like this isnt going to

be a slack day either.. but I am going to dota 1st! celebrate no school!

HALLOWEEN 2006

The weather has finally become a little warmer around here.. haha! Today

When i saw the weather forecast.. It was a super -9 degree celcius only!!

People might say that i am crazy! negative 9 still say that it is warm! But

it is true that for that temperature.. It is super warm around here! People

are starting to go out of their dorms in only one layer of clothing! I think

I might even remove one of my thicker layers later! haha!

The snow down here have not melted yet.. But I think they are going to start

melting pretty soon! Afterall..it is february liaoz! but the forecast says it is

going to have like another one and a half day of snow starting from tonight...

That would mean that I have to go to school with monday blues and shoes

filled with snow!!! That is simply not very fun to think about lor.. But looking

back.. I haven been posting up a lot of things I wanted to put up.. So since I

have the time now.. after I have finished grading all the IE 300 papers.. I will

write about the halloween parties last year!!

Thats me and weihong! Finished dressing up!! We took hell a lot of time in dallas
trying to find the right costumes for ourselves.. haha.. we were on quite a tight
budget and gotta look for something really really nice! Finally.. after like 3 hours
in that shop.. we finally got these costumes!

Preparation to go up to the party.. everyone is like putting on the finishing touches
to their costumes and make up! haha and also to take off all the jackets and stuff!
It was cold outside man!! haha! Those that actually wore something that was skimpy,
was like totally shivering outside! Plus that night had such strong winds!

Thats me!! Trying to like zip up my costumes! Hey hey! It is a sylvester cat costume
alright!?! It is not some freaking skunk costume!!! Though I know that the tail is like
black and white and everything.. but look at the head!! It is not a freaking skunk
costume!! haha! some one with a phone was like walking past me and telling his friend..
I saw some one in a skunk costume!!! ... Haha... good job at recognising warner brothers
cartoons..

The 2 mascot costume people in the entire party! Me and joshua.. We were like
ask to like fight.. the chicken and the cat.. haha.. turned out to be pretty funny..
cos like a lot of people wanna take pictures with us.. but then it is like so hot..
with the head gear on and everything!! We were like spotted at the balcony..
constantly! Cos it is like way cooler outside! Inside.. Me and joshua were sweating
like nobody's business!!

The whole gang of people who were dressed up!! All except me lar.. i was like
somwhere taking pictures or outside catching my breathe!!! We got freaky ones..
cute ones, nerdy ones, stoned ones and all sorts of variety! haha!!

Well.. That halloween over here!! Lotsa parties and every one was like super

dressed up like that.. It is quite simillar to crossplay in singapore lar.. haha..

where everyone just dress up as a anime character! we manage to go out and

walk on the streets together in a big group! I got like stopped quite a few times

just to take picture with people on the road! I feel so much like in disney land lar!

Just that this time I was the mascot.. where other people would like to take

pictures with me!! And the best thing about being in the costume is that...

You do not need to smile!!! The costume automatically smile for you!! haha!

This is the kinda advertisment that they put up on the television! It is

freaking funny lar! It keeps you really entertained! Not like the advertisments

in singapore! Where it is seriously boring!!! These are the seriously funny one!

Haha! I was laughing all the way when it came up on television! These are

really good for like relieving the stress!! Hiaz.. gotta go back to studies now..

SNOW DAY OUT

School have like started out for quite a while liaoz.. It has snowed quite a bit!!

All the mid terms and everything are starting liaoz.. It is going to go back into

the stage fo your university life where quizes and midterms just simply does not

stop at all!! they just keep on coming one affter another!! It is just like that for

me right now!!! But at least it is the weekends liaoz.. so that means that I can go

out and play a little bit 1st before coming back to work again and study for all

my upcoming midterms!! But as i have said.. it snowed quite a bit over here!

So that means that i can have all the snow fun!!!

How the engineering quad looks like when it is like covered with about 4 inches
worth of snow man!!! haha! I like it when the engineering quad looks like that!
The only bad thing bout it being covered totally with snow is that the pavements
will be covered with snow as well.. so basically.. it will be kinda irritating to tread
through the thick snow and get your feet all wet and frozen..

Well one thing you can do when there is a lot of snow will be to make snow man!!
Though my end results looks more like a bowling pin made of snow... but at least
I have tried!! Nope.. havent tried to make snow angel yet! I am not that crazy
to lie in a pile of snow in -25 degree celcius to make myself wet and even more
cold! Just to make a shape in the snow! Yes.. I am not wearing gloves.. so basically..
my hands were totally frozen when I was trying to make the snowman!!

Haha!! The end result!! the head looks a little bit weird cos it fell off right before the
picture was taken!! hence resulting in the disproportionate figure! haha!! the
eyes are just one cent coins! the snow man literally have money signs in its
eyes!!! The big kinda snow man requires like a huge group of people pushing and
stacking.. and plus it takes skill as well!! Sadly.. I dont have skill =(

We had a little bit of snowball fight outside!! It was really really fun!! Lin yan was
like hiding and running around and was like trying to sneak snowballs into my face!
All thru the day!! I was practically on high alert that day!! we had like 4 snowball
fights that day! And I have no idea why.. I will always be the one with the most
amount of damages..ie.. my whole body and face will be covered up with snow!!

This is like -18 degree celcius outside with like lotsa really really cold wind blowing
straight into us!! and we are like wearing no jackets at all and running outside! Just
to take pictures of us in like business casual!!! We were simply crazy and torturing
ourselves! I suppose that is what that will happen after you finish going for the
fraternities info night! hahah!! And we were sweating like mad after this cos we
went to eat something that was seriously hot and spicy!!

Well.. I kinda got like tackled down onto the snow.. and everyone was like piling up
on me!! ahaha! and the next thing I knew was that I was like being throw snow at..
into the face.. into my jackets... everywhere! i have no idea what happened after that
.. cos I was like totally cold and frozen and numb!

Haha!! The end effect of what happens to me after a snowball fight! i told you I will
literally have snow covering me from top to bottom! I will be the one with the worst
amount of damages!!! The hot chocolate in my hands didnt even feel hot at all!! Even
when i gulped it down! It tastes really good... Haha! Especially when I am totally numb
with all the pain!! haha

After like all the snow fights and all the thrashing me in the snow and everything..
fine.. i am lousy.. I always gets thrashed!.. We manage to like find a camera and
started taking pictures! Behind me is the quad.. totally white and covered with
snow!! It is really nice.. but like i said.. walking in between classes can be quite a
chore..

I went sledding that day as well!! It was.. FUN!!! haha.. all the speed and exhileration!
haha.. We tried out all the craziest way to sled down a hill!! I aws being piled on again
and I was like being pushed down the hill!!! haha! We totally spinned out of control..
And at the end of the ride.. let me say that i didnt know where the hell was I and Ihave no idea why the hell was I spinning so badly!!

Yepz yepz.. The normal way of sledding down a hill! just sit... hold on tight.. and...
SCREAM AS LOUDLY AS YOU POSSIBLY CAN!! Because you will totally let
it out anyway when you start to go down the hill.. With enough momentum..
You can even like hit the tree right in front of you!!!

At the end of everything.. Of course.. I felt so tired and shagged out that.. When I
saw a bed.. I just lay there and sleep!!! I was totally sapped of energy!!! I would like
to move around and play somemore... but I was simply too shagged out!! After being
piled on.. pushed down a hill.. targeted by snowballs.. and everything.. chased around
the quad... I was of course out of energy!!

Haha.. all the stuff that you can do during winter is really really fun! especially when

you are doing it together with your friends!! We even have this event called the

campus assasin! Where all the people will pretend to be assasins.. You will have a

target to kill and your target will have another to kill!! The only thing is that you have

no idea who your killer is!! So basically.. when you see like a singaporean walking along

the corridor.. you will be so paranoid!!! You will take out either your super cool looking

nerf gun ( the guns that shoot out sponge sticks)or your super sneaky spoon and you

will kill the person!! snowball is cunted as one of the weapons as well!!! But apparently..

It snowed after I got killed!! =( Back to studies liaoz.. =(

PICTURES FROM UIUC, AND LIFE IN THE STATES

After spending bout a week in new york city, been through the new

year countdown at times square (boy! was it crowded!! people actually

start to stay at times square to get a spot from noon!! And who say only

singaporeans are kiasu huh!?!?) , got lost in the small little island of

manhattan ( yes.. I got hollanded (lost in army terms) again... and you

think that you will not get lost if all the roads are parallel and perpendicular

to each other), almost got knocked down by a few cars..( well, I know some

of you are kinda disappointed at knowing i didnt get hit! tsk tsk..) did a few

shopping here and there( actually it was simply just window shopping... the

only things i bought in new york city were food.. and boy did i spend a lot of

money on food there), visited the statue of liberty and empire state building

( thx to dickson, I was able to even visit the empire state building after

like dont know how many years! the queue to the visitation was a 2 hr +

queue man!!), tried going to a bar in new york city ( only drank a drink)

and many other stuff ( also referred to as... watching TV, surfing the net,

sleeping and being lazy..) Now I am currently in steamboat resort, colorado..

Well... i cant say that there isnt enough snow here.. Cos it is snowing virtually

every single day!!! With all the falling down on a snowboard... I can hardly

stand up liaoz! I virtually collapse at the couch everyday i come back!

haha.. think either too old or too lazy to get up after sitting down... haha!

so far.. UIUC has been a really really great place! great place to play and

have fun!! plus the weather has been so good so far! This is kinda a late

post.. This pics are taken before the semester began and after I got

to UIUC!

the school actually starts!!

The people who were presenting to the freshman were pretty much boring..
I can only remember the last talker.. he was using hydrogen and oxygen to make
explosions here and there!! It was pretty cool!! and well.. when all the freshman
arrives.. the whole place will actually be full! Bout 12k students intake per year!

The indoor recreational facility.. It includes a lot of basketball courts, an indoor
swimming pool, a few squash courts, a multi-purpose court, a huge gym and
more... this was like a random pose.. haha.. look at how all of us are being stepped
on!! and especially the guy in green is my room mate =(

This is a view of the entire campus! taken from one of the dorm.. ok.. perhaps not
the entire campus... the entire cmpus is way bigger than being shown in the picture!
It takes bout 30 min of walking to get from one end to the other end of the campus!
but this is like in the end of summer! in fall.. all the trees will turn golden and in winter,
the trees will look really really bare..

that was organised.. we were given lightbands and free food!

This was one hell of a party man!

Look at our happy faces! I just realised that me and zhenghao are looking at 2
separate cameras.. oopss.. we were given this hawaiian neckies to wear when
we get into the facility!

Of course.. for the free food.. we were given flavoured ice..( which is something
like ice kachang but without all the red beans or atapchee or 3-colored syrup
or corn or anything.. it is just the shaven ice with a flavoured) well.. it is like
a replacement from ice kachang lar..but something is better than nothing rite!?!
Or else why do you think we will all be eating so happily =)

Well.. School haven started yet.. so basically it means more time to take pictures
and to slacka round and most importantly, a word from the bananas.. Chill!!

Armed with our 1st ever handphone... from the states! and guess what!?!? The phone
that most of us are using in the picture.. are FREE!!! cool right!?!? The handphones
technology in the states tend to be a little bit.. errr... slow... and old... haha! All the
ang mohs were like admiring our phones and they were super fascinated by the fact
that we have 3G technology!! Look at all of us.. pretending to be making phonecalls..
acting busy and acting cool!! haha!

hours.. thats right! We get credits for all the subjects that we take in A and O levels!
So basically.. Our 1st sem in UIUC, we started out as sophmore! Virtually all the
sights and sounds in school are like this! flowers everywhere and fountains everywhere!
That is in summer lar.. in winter.. all the flowers die and gets covered in snow! And
you get daily snowball fights!!

This is like an outdoor concert held right in front of the main building! We were pretty
shcoked when we saw this! Cos we don't really get it like this in singapore.. We only
see this in the college movies! Yep! it is true! they party virtually everyday here!
This is so incredible and fun!!

We were watching a show performed by a hypnothis! It was not too bad! We saw
like how the crazy ang moh all volunteered just to get hypnothized! Crazy people..
But we had lotsa fun looking at them after they got hypnothized! They were doing
some stupid things which were incredibly funny! But the sad thing is that most of
us were stll under the influence of jet-lag.. so we were feeling pretty sleepy towards
the end of the show..

These are the things that happened here in summer and the fall. It is a totally

different experience! You get totally excited and wanna take as much pictures

as possible when the leaves on the trees turn orange and starts to fall off one

by one! You start to feel really hot in the day and really cold in the night! But

the campus is seriously seriously nice!! a little big though.. so travelling back

and forth tends to be a little bit jialat.. but it is exercise man!!! I am gonna be

in the states for close to six months liaoz.. We have quite a few crazy snowball

fights, road trips, movies, outings, cookouts, picture takings, laze around!! I will

try my best to actually update my blog.. but then.. the school is kinda taking up

a lot ot my time.. so basically... it is quite hard.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!! HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Wah... it has been soo long since I last entered to update my blog arh.. haha...

Aiyo.. look at all the dust and cobwebs lying around here and there!!!

When finals are over, I went travelling to chicago, tried out cooking,

wake up everyday at around 2pm and sleep at around 5 am.. Playing basketball,

jogging and going to the movies!! So fast 1 semester gone liaoz.. and to think that

I have left singapore for a pproximately 4 months liaoz.. It just doesnt seem like

it! Things I have learnt in the states..

Frisbee
academic stuff ( gotta say this one oso lar.. or else there is no point in me coming)
basketball
ice skating

I realised that there are a lot of fun courses that can be counted for in the credits!

Like:

Salsa dancing
ice figure skating
badminton and sports
dance
modern recreation like bungee jumping and sky diving

Plus, you get to arrange your own time table! like if you can arrange such that

your classes starts at 11am and end by 3 pm and your fridays off! But of course,

other people also know how to think lar.. so they will more or less try to get this

schedule lar.. I have like the lowest priority in class choosing.. so I usually get like

kinda shitty schedule.. like my next sem! I have classes that start at 9 and end like

8pm! and no days off! arghh!! plus it is like my hols are coming to an end soon!

Well.. anyway.. thanks to all the poeple who came down to see me off.. especially

those that are living in the west!

My last dinner in singapore before I left.. Boy was it good! Well, at least better than
the chinese food here in the states.. Man.. I really miss eating a bowl of meepok right
now.. I am planning to experiment to produce at least one decent bowl of meepok..
but the noodles is so hard to find here in the states!

My parents. This was the last meal i had with them for at least 4 months! until I get to
meet them again... I didnt get to spend a lot of time together with them.. This dinner
was kinda rush for me.. I didnt get the chance to really enjoy the meal, I only
remembered eating really quickly so that i can be on time to meet up with the rest of
the scholars that are taking the same flight as me..

I manage to get to the airport on time! whew! I was totally shocked! Cos on the way
here.. I got trapped in the peak hour jam!! I dont know how long I spent in the car..
At least i managed not to be late! With the stupid terrorist bombing incident in london
heathrow, we had so much trouble with the checking in of all the stuff! We were facing
the possibility of checking in our laptops! which was utterly ridiculous! There I was..
breaking the bad news to all of them! look at all the shocked faces.. when i told them
that they might face a possible confiscation of laptops if they were not to check in all
their stuff! In the end.. we just didnt give a damm bout it and brought it on board..
the result.. They didnt even care!!

Thats me! after settling all the check-in stuff.. why the hell did the terrorist choose
such a bad timing to be naughty!! Thats meiqing and amy and jasmine in the pic!

Thats like a VJC PA crew gathering lar! especially wanqin and joy! I haven seen
them for such a long long time! They were usually not free for all the outings! But
I am really glad I got to see them before I left... The one who made the most effort
was actually mun thye! He was like flying to the states the very next day and he
came down to send me off!! He really did keep his word about sending the earlier of
the two of us off! I was sure he had lotsa stuff to pack for leaving the next day!

I didnt expect to see xiaoyang and yiquan here! It happens that the world is so small!
They came to send off the people that were travelling together with me! I discovered
that many of my friends knew each other! How Coincidental! The best thing yet.. They
were also leaving to go to the states to study soon!

Bananas! Had a really really good time talking to them lar! especially when we were
chatting bout all the things we had done in the PA camp! all the chilling out and relaxing!
Makes me kinda feel lazy liaoz =P I am still impressed by the fact that we came in 1st
for the food hunt! Cos we were all walking and taking our own sweet time.. when the rest
are running about... and we manage to come in 1st!

My family sending me off! They were kinda worried that I would miss my flight!
I was like talking to everyone until I forgot bout the time! They kept asking what
time was I gonna go into the customs! I really went in just at the last minute!
TYhe funny thing was that our group got split up! and we were like spending some
time searching for each other inside the departure gate!

HAHA!! Busy me! cannot help it sia.. business pretty good at that time lar.. making
lotsa big money.. so keep on getting a lot of business calls lar.. haha! If you really
believed that.. I dont know what to say about you liaoz lar... haha! Many people
were like calling in to say that they cant make it.. afterall.. it was the 1st day of the
school! I was busy until I kinda ignored wanqin and joy! Sorry!

But I manage to take a picture with my direct junior and junior in the end! haha!
Finally get to see them! It is really hard to even meet up with them man! Well..
I suppose that is uni life! The life I was gonna experience! In the states!

Transit time~~ in narita, tokyo.. there are the super excited ones.. and the shagged out
ones.. This is taken inside the customs area.. it is sooo early that none of the shops were
opened lar! It kinda scared the hell out of all of us.. cos like we were hungry and there is no shops inside the terminal to eat! All the restaurants were located outside the custom area!
Plus none of us have yens.. so cannot really buy any food at all..

Me.. filling out the immigration forms in the plane.. I didnt expect that being a student
have to fill out so many pre-arrival forms before landing in the states.. The smartest
thing that i think i did.. i must say.. was TO FILL OUT THE FORM WHEN THE PLANE
WAS HAVING A MILD TURBULENCE! The plane was bouncing up and down and it
was quite hard to fill out the form..

Time to wake up!! We were about to land in the states liaoz.. this was not SIA..
so basically you dont really get friendly air stewardess serving you like a king..
and you will have your fun nintendo games to play on your krisworld.. This
was JAL.. Jia And Lat --->jialat..This plane didnt carry enough water to serve
the customers for starters.. so they have to provide limited bottled water..
Their serving speed.. lets just say that you can sleep, wake up, go and get it
yourself, come back and finish drinking the water..And they still haven answer
to your call button! The most outrageous thing was that one of the air stewardess
actually threaten us! The thing was that we were bored.. so we got together to
talk lar.. and this japanese women who was watching the tv with her headphones
on complained to the air stewardess about us disturbing her sleep! The air
stewardess was like ordering us to go back to our seats! We were asking if it
was not possible to even stand and stretch? Weihong woke up at this
moment and asked for a bottle of water.. the air stewardess actually threatened us
by saying that she will only get it for us if we were to return to our seats!

Finally.. after like over 20 hours of plane ride from singapore..I reached chicago!
The super long line of immigration behind me isnt the most moralising factor
of my day.. Plus.. they sorta make all the students wait at a corner to fill in
something extra.. the only good thing is that this was all done under 30min..
Compared to the 2 over hours that one international student faces in UK or AUS
this is counted as pretty fast liaoz..feeling sianz from all the waiting..

Managed to have lunch.. I was still feeling kinda bloated from the meal in the
plane.. I was amazed at all the others.. they were all feeling hungry.. We had
our 1st meal in the states.. it is not some big meal.. it is just a bagel and
a drink.. the funny thing is that when the waiters ask what kinda cheese we
want.. we all got stunned.. haha!

We reach UIUC airport liaoz! willard airport.. the airport at urbana champaign..
Well.. dont expect too much though.. cos what you can see in the picture, is
pretty much everything in the airport liaoz... They even like put welcome to
university of illinois at urbana champaign.. I suppose they dont have anything
that is really interesting huh.. Yeah.. no more seating in the plane liaoz.. bloody
tiring lar..

Believe it or not.. this is the outsie of the airport... It does not even look like an
aiport at all lar.. there is like no cars at all... nothing! Plus it had this hay smell
in the air.. No matter how you look at it... it looks more like a golf course than
an airport..

The state of illinois... also known as the state of corns.. everywhere is corn! you
just simply wont run out of it... even along the way to the hostel, we can see that
there is corn here and there lar.... Plus the weather is pretty hot as well.. bout
the same as in singapore..

We just got to the hostel.. Pennsylvania avenue residence! we got a great view
and a pretty big room for ourselves! 1 Hr into moving in and we are almost
done with unpacking all the essential stuff! We are all prepared to leave for
walmart!

walmart.. our 1st visit there.. to get our pillows and all the stuff we need to survive
man.. it is like a hypermarket, selling all sorta stuff at super cheap prices.. it is
something like giant in singapore.. But the only thing is that.. THIS IS THE MOST
HAPPENING PLACE IN UIUC! everyone loves coming to walmart! Cos you cant
stop shopping in walmart! and at super cheap pricing somemore!

This is how my side of the room look like =) haha.. dont let the neatness trick
you.. haha.. it is usually messy.. haha! books on the bed.. table messy and with
more things in the room.. you cant get anymore neater huh

I am currently in new york city! The big apple! Was here for the new year

count down! It was really really cool! The people shouting the countdown!

Plus all the alchol that comes with it! was really excited all the crowd! People

were starting to stand down there in the times square at bout 12 noon! and

they started wating there all the way till midnight! That night was super cold

as well!! haha.. crazy people.. but I almost did that! If I didnt join one of the

party that was over looking the time square! The TV was like showing all the

countdowns all over the world before new york city! They happen to miss

out singapore! We were like saying that other countries have very impressive

fireworks and everything! And judging from singapore.. we were like thinking

of the possibility that everyone was like staying at home watching TV and nobody

wanna go out to countdown! haha! So cannot really show it on TV!

After all the eating of food and shopping... I think I have gained quite some weight

and lost some money.. well.. you gain some and you lose some! Hope that I can

find some better slots for my lessons next sem!! Happy 2007 everyone!

My 21st Birthday in Singapore!

Wah.. life here at UIUC has been becoming faster and faster lehz! Initially I planned to

write my blog like once a week lar. now.. it is like super tough! Midterms after midterms..

the quiz does not seem to stop too! Now.. every week seemed to have a quiz or

midterms lar.. hiaz.. not enough time to do every thing.. plus gotta settle the housing

among the (quote from dickson) shitloads of homework! But it has been fun here so far!

The most exciting thing that you can do over here is actually go to walmart to shop!

That is something like going to GIANT to shop lar!!! how happening is that! We do get

to see a lot of football games here.. but then I have not had the time to go and

participate in them.. sianz.. Well.. at least I will be going to 6 flags ST Louis next weekend!

haha! Have been travelling around! and it is confired liaoz! I am going to ski during

thanksgiving and winterbreak! So can't wait for the breaks to come!

Anywayz.. I am putting up another old post! haha! didnt really have the time to post it up

before I left! This is my 21st birthday party... Well. it has been fun organising it! And

to see everyone again before I leave! Cos after the party.. I left for states in a week...

My family.. Mom, Dad, Sis, Bro.. The last party I had in singapore before I left! haha!
The thing was that my mom was saying that she bo-chup my planning for the planning..
she just does not want the house to be dirty at the end of the day.. HAHA!! That is so
not true lor! she was like nagging me bout how my party planning was going on!

My father side of the family.. The funny thing is that I keep on forgetting that the 2 boys in the picture is actually my cousins.. I keep on thinking that they are my nephews! Cos I have nephews that are about their age!

The full size of my Dad's family! All the people on the right are my generation and all the
people on the left are my auntie uncle generation! HAHA! they were like kinda eating
durians before this.. so when they came in.. you can really feel the durian atmosphere!

Ok.. This is my mom's side! My little niece is the one in the blue dress! I think this
is the 1st ever time she been to my house! With all the wine glass on the tables.. you
can imagine that my mother side loves wine! Yepz! We drink wine everytime we meet!

My little niece! See how happy she is! I have no idea what does the raising of the hand
signify.. but heck it lar! as long as she is happy! I am happy... Must be all the crowd lar..

My cousins from my mom side =) Yepz.. even the small little girl whose age is
only 6 years old.. Yepz.. we do have one hell of a huge age gap..

The dudes from pioneer platoon! The happy looks on their faces as all of them
ORDed long long time ago!! That means don't need to book in that night liaoz!
Well... Zhihao is from mortar.. but he used to be in pioneer! Just like how
I used to be in pioneer.. then later downgrade to armskoteman.. haha!

Well they came kinda late.. So they were still eating when most of the people were
already done.. But luckily got them! Or else I would not know how to clear up all
the leftovers from the party! Man! They can really eat! haha!

My tu2 Zi3 tu2 sun1 ( my juniors, grandjuniors of PA Crew!) HAHA! Well. Had
lotsa fun with them! had lotsa talk cock and crap sessions that usually ended
up quite hilarious! OF course lar! Royston is going to go through his hell week..
So is cheng kun.. haha!! the amount of fun you will have in army and navy!

Thats them slacking in the TV room before taking the picture above! They were kinda
hooked onto school band superstars.. or something like that bah.. anywayz... I had to
drag them out to take a picture lar! them qiao1 qiao1 sneak in to watch tv (-_-")

Yepz.. This is my OG group from nus PA CAMP! The yellow bananas! Glad
that they could make it! Cos from what I know, there was another person's
birthday party as well.. That some of them went to( I dunnoe wats with that
day.. everyone seems to be having party..)

Now this is another OG from from NUS.. HAHA! Well.. they are not of my og group
lar.. but then I seem to be getting along well with the people over there! I happen
to know their group leader for quite a long time now.. It is such a small world..
apparently, we happen to know someone in common and we did not know about
it until the person's name was briefly mentioned.

We were like speculating bout wat happened to the rest of the group that did
not come that day! And also.. I was like in front of a board of interviewers..
cos they were like asking why did I choose UIUC and why not stay in singapore..
hahah!! But I was kinda shocked to find out that amy actually applied to Astar
scholarship!

My very close group of friends.. Known them since JC! Most of them are from PA
crew and the others.. I happen to know from around the school.. Benjamin was
from army though.. too bad kerfern and kangxun didnt come and join this picture..

We were like talking bout all that is going on that night.. plus meiqing was bout to
have a birthday party liaoz.. and I couldn't join it! Damm.. cos I will be in uiuc liaoz..
I was like teasing her bout which guy is she interested in! I intro!

Gamers! I knew them since JC as well! HEHE! They are a super fun batch of guys lar!
they were like asking me to intro girls to them lar! but then I didnt really have a lot
of time to talk to them =P

Well.. This is like the crowd in my house that day... I was like jumping from table
to table.. Until I didnt really eat my dinner!

Cutting of the cake.. HAHA! You only get to cut this kinda 21st Bday cake once
in your life.. Plus this is like the biggest cake I have ever cut! The amazing thing
is that the cake actually got finished! Chocolate truffle cake!

Well. This was what the food looked like that night! hired a BBQ chef to come and
cook the food and everything looked really good! hah!Though later the clean up
was kinda horendous... haha! But it was fun!

THE YELLOW BANANAS! MY ORIENTATION
GROUP FOR PA CAMP!

Sighz! I am here for almost 1 month liaoz! Getting busier by the day! since the

homework down here worth hell a lot of marks! so basically when there is homework,

you gotta do or else there goes your grades and GPA lar! haha! The finals exams cost

only like 40% of the overall marks lar! the rest are all the class quiz, homework and

pop quiz! damm... Got so much to do and so much things to read! the one I am most

pissed off with is maths! I don't hate maths... just that I am feeling sick and tired of

the program doing the maths! what you can write out and solve in 30 sec.. I spend 5

minutes doing... minimum! The typing in part is really really shag man! haha! Today

I like even missed my economics 102 tutorial lar! that is like so jia lat lar! Not even

1 month into the school already start to miss lessons liaoz! haha! well teh story is that

I woke up at 0830 for a 0900 class.. so I thought might as well sleep a little longer

right!?!? since I know I can get to classs on time if I leave before 0850... so that

sleep just knocked me out again.... haha! Woke up at 0930.. 1st thing I said aloud

was ' SHIT!!!!' Went to the class as quickly as possible just in time to catch the people

coming out of there! Hengz sia! Cos I realised that there is a quiz coming next friday

lar! the only shitty thing now is that I don't know what kinda questions will come out

liaoz..... haha! well.. too bad lar yar! I am already quite amazed at my mugging streak!

It is something that has never happened to me in JC lor! I am always like heck care

about homework and then mug at the very last minute one! haha! oh man!! It is

friday man! and I am gonna eat chinese food tonight! The salad in the dining hall is

too much for me liaoz! I want fried vegetables! haha!

After all the trips to USA and europe and also some trips to malaysia, I joined

some of the NUS orientation camps! Haha! Got to know a lot of people! hiaz...

too bad now I am in USA so it is harder to keep in contact with them liaoz! Since

there is a 13hr difference in time! singapores night is my morning and vice versa!

so bascially when I talk to them in singapore over msn messenger, the question

that they would definitely ask is how come I am not sleeping yet! haha! without fail

man! Tried and tested !

The yellow bananas! My orientation group for the PA camp! I know that I was from
PA crew but this is so not the PA I was from lor! haha! This is political association
camp! Nope.. it has nothing to do with politics when I was in the camp! It is just
chilling out and taking it easy! haha!

See! Told you my group is serious bout chilling out! perhaps too serious liaoz!! haha!
Play the food race with them on the 1st day and I was amazed man! we were the only
group that took a taxi down to orchard road lor! haha! the rest like took bus and mrt!
The comfort man! And the amazing thing is that we saw people running here and there
and we were like taking our own sweet time to walk to places.. and we actually won!
haha! OK... lesson learned... taking the cab is definitely smarter than taking other forms
of public transport! haha!

Barbeque night! Well.. Went to look for kianxin or rather.. charles! haha!!!
took a photo with him and his OG leader! haha! Oops!! suddenly forgotten
his name liaoz!! haha!! I think I mugged a little bit too much liaoz! haha!
no offence dude! haha!

Well.. thats basically our dinner on the table! We were kinda lazy to prepare the bbq
pit.. and also because we could not find a available bbq pit lor! so we helped ourselves
to the cooked food! haha! Nobody actually went to take the cook food until we made a
move! and after that, there was a seriously long queue man! haha! luckily we took
what we wanted in the 1st place! haha!

Hmmmmm... Well... We played water monkey down here! And it was during a
period that we were suppose to be preparing for the skid at night! haha! well..
The plan was to come down here and play and discuss in the meantime.. but as
you might have guessed it! The only thing we managed to come up with was how
to prevent oneself from being the water monkey or how to get out of the shit
of being the monkey liaoz! But man were we happy! haha!

The guys from my group in the yellow bananas! The funny thing now is that the
group was not used to be called yellow bananas lor! haha! I didnt know how did
it managed to change to that name ... the initial name was just yellow.. ok... Maybe
yellow bananas was a nice change to it! haha!

and.... IN SENTOSA!!!

Well.. I forgotten what is this group's name liaoz.. haha! lets call it kianxin's group then!
haha! well.. yeah.. as you might have guessed it.. Kianxin is inside the group as well!
this is like my next best buddy group lar! haha! it is like the ally group of the yellow
bananas! haha!! well.. I really got to know the group through kianxin lar..

These are my sp for the camp! haha! poh sieu and natalie.. Things that learnt
from them.. natalie like chocolate and pohsieu likes travelling.. haha! the funny
thing was that my sp changed from natalie to pohsieu on the 2nd day and i was
totally ignorant to it! I was like babbling bout chocolates all the way lor! haha!
until I found out that my sp was sick liaoz... she actually knew who my SP was!
The funny thing is that all my group mates happen to know who is their SP was!
I was the only one that was like still wondering who is my SP! haha! I suppose
We are all fair play huh!?!? haha!!!

The future doctor pangho! haha! He is in deans list and then he always say that he is
not smart one lor! bullshit!! haha! but then the best thing was during fright night...
he was like telling us that if your partner suddenly got scarred until she becomes
mentally disordered... haha! don't panic.. just scream!! haha! I think we are the one
that is mentally disordered in this picture lor! haha!

HAHA!! another event done! I am like trying to post up all the stuff I did before

I left singapore for studies before putting up all the universities picture! haha!

That also mean that I will have time to go and arrange my room until very neat 1st!

haha! but then by the looks of things, I might not be able to post up new post as

often lor! but then I will still try to go by once a week! Can't wait for tomorrow to

come! I am going paintballing with some of the people and the others are going to

pluck apples from curtis orchard! hmm.. I think I will go there in the future as well

when I get my license!! then I can rent the car liaoz!! haha! the only thing now is that

I need to get used to the right lane driving! haha! Anywayz.. I also gotta go and get

some really really cold weather clothing very very soon! haha! cos it has been getting

pretty cold at night over here! I almost froze lor! haha!

REDANG! THE CLEAR SKIES AND BLUE SEAS

Well.... School has pretty much started.. Lessons are kinda easy at the moment.. haha

I am just hoping that it will remain that way..haha! The weather has been pretty ok..

It is not the super hot and sunny days anymore.. it is not even feeling exactly very very

hot either over here.. The night will get kinda cooling and sometimes even pretty cold!

Just like last night.. it kinda had a thunderstorm.. and I was shivering in my room! haha!

Life here is still pretty good... The only thing I am missing is Mee Pok from singapore!

haha! talking bout food.. the portions of the food here is humongous! every single meal

that we take are all in the form of buffet! and The other thing I miss the most is

chinese stirred fried vegetables and the rice! the authentic thai fragrant rice! the rice

here tastes a little bit weird.. yesterday the senior organised like some sorta pot luck!

And they cooked curry! Hmm.. I haven even started using my slowcooker to cook all

the chicken soup and hainaness chicken rice yet! why lehz!?!?! cos my power step up

transformer blew up on me! arghh... now cannot eat the good food liaoz....

I was like looking through this pictures and laughed at all the fun times we had in

singapore before we left! haha! Well.. I did say last time that I will definitely post up

the redang trip! so here is it!

HAHA! The night we left singapore for redang! It is like super cold at night lar! and the
bus driver is super hiong ( aggresive) He drove on the right hand side of the road!
against the flow of cars! and at a super high speed somemore! woah! he must seriously
be feeling bored! With the super cold and bumpy ride... one can be amazed if you
managed to have a comfortable night! sleeping! okok.. it is off to ZZZZzzz for me!

Thats me and kangxun! We are taking the power boat all the way to redang island!
Man! it was sure a fun ride! lets just say that weihong almost got seasick down here!
This is like almost one of the roller coaster rides you actually take when you go
to a theme park! sudden drops and hard slaps... haha! Well.. I suppose that is the reason
why they would want us to put on a life jacket! but this boat is mighty fast!

man! haha! and there was a lot of aquatic life! The weird thing is that they do not
swim away from you.. the thing is that the actually come close enough to brush you!

Thats a picture of a baby shark! Followed it all the way to take its picture! hopeing
that it will actually turn back and help me pose a little bit.. but then apparently
not arh... haha! it was actually in a group of two... the other one ran away liaoz..
leaving me with only this one... haha!!! It ran away once I took my eyes off! haha

Thats me diving down in the water! told you that the redang sea water is like crystal
clear and you can really see a lot fo aquatic life down here lar! haha! we bought the
waterproof camera just for this kinda shots man! haha! took in plenty of sea water
after this though! haha! super salty!

haha!! well.. i am not sure bout why this happened...

The pro is in ACTION! Of course when I say pro.. I am not refering to weihong
lar.. haha! Not to me either! I am refering to the malay guy that works there!
They totally like really good at table tennis lar! Must be have too much time to
talk cock liaoz lor! haha! Thats why can perfect their skills until so zai!

That is us! Preparing to go out for our snorkelling! It is like the don't know how many
days here liaoz.. but the time here passes by really fast! it is like whoosh! and the
day is over liaoz! haha! we were here for 4 days somemore! it is like so many days...
but then seriously.. it isnt exactly a lot lor! haha!

HAHA! The funny thing here is that we are not living on this resort! Our resort is
not very nice lar.. Don't have a swimming pool or other activities that you have
in the other resorts.. But the good thing is that the people there are really nice and
easy to live with! We managed to learn a little bit of malay from the tour guide!

The hungry look on our faces! We are all waiting for our dinner to be served!
One thing that is good bout this place is that it gives you free meals! or rather
the meals are all included inside the package lar! haha! there is tea like from 4-6
and then the dinner from 730 onwards! Wah.. we can really eat man! haha!

The meals that they serve us! It is pretty good.. Ok lar.. not say the super
incredible and super nice tasting lar.. It maybe a little salty and bland here
and there! sometimes.. And the food is pretty oily as well.. but the taste is
pretty good! Now this explains a lot bout why our faces looks so hungry!

The beach right outside our resort! Of course it is not as nice as the one we saw
at the resort laguna lar! but then there is still like clear water... lotsa corals..
One thing bout this beach is that you will feel the depth of the seas immediately
after you stepped into the water!

Karoke session at the resort! Well.. We were actually playing cards in the room lar!
Like what we have been doing every single time when we were doing nothing.. so
we went to sing when we found out that there is actually a karaoke set in the resort
.. they next thing that actually happened was that we were singing from light to
dark! haha! too bad that the CD's were pretty limited.. so basically don't have much
songs to sing! unless you count in malay songs! =)

Our so-called hotel room haha! though it is not much a 'hotel' lar! but then there
is still the attached toilet, the air conditioned room, the soft comfy beds.. though
I think I managed to accidentally crack one of the beds when I happen to sit on
it! ( no I am not fat!)

Yoz dude! wassup!?!?!? haha! went to go and visit the night life over there! There
is like a dance floor and everything.. so basically we had fun and laughter! I like the
evening time over there! Windy and there is like a loud crshing sound of the
waves... pretty relaxing!

Haha! Weihong and lilian looking back at me for a picture while we were on our way to
laguna resort i think! haha! It is quite a long time liaoz.. so basically it just does not
register to be as clear liaoz.. haha! But I can definitely still remember that it was one
hell of a hot day! haha!

is like so high up in the sky liaoz! But! the skilled me managed to make it as though
it is a sunrise! haha!!! =p

playing frisbee! and they take it seriously man! the way they throw and everything! I

OLD EVENTS NEW POST.. SO MEANS OLD POST!

Well... I have just been to USA for like only 4 days lar.. Been through the sunny, the

rainy... It has been super busy.. buying finish all the stuff that you will need for your

daily needs.. And there is also the part about registering for classes and of course...

The Unpacking of all the stuff I brought over from singapore! haha! It has been like

very fast lar! The time spent down here in UIUC just fly by man.. With a super big

rocket booster tied behind its back! It has been very very fun! Though I think I am

starting to miss chilli sauce from singapore.. and especially meepok... Classes are

about to start soon and I do hope I am prepared...

Haha! Anywayz.. this is like a super old post htat I should have posted it up long

ago lar! I like combined it together.. Some of the things that I have done after I came

back from my europe trip in may.. Then plus I have been seriously busy over the

past few weeks.. after my birthday party.. so I do not have time to write blogs lor!

This post is like a compilation of 3 days work sia!

All the people that came for the party! haha! look at the shocked lilian! I think
she really did not know that we were planning a birthday party for her lar! But
then again.. she is not suppose to know anyway! So in short.. We are good!

The Birthday cake! of course you gotta have a cake on your birthday! haha! it is pretty god
except for the part that it was partly melted liaoz! but other than that.. it was ok.. it looked
really really disgusting after like left out in the open for 3 hours lot.. in the end weihong and
lilian finished everything! haha!

Sushi! All sorts of it! the funny thing was that when we went ot go and buy it.. there
werent any sushi at all! All of the ntuc sushi makers were like still preparing and
everything.. so in the end we cannot get the party box.. got to buy the limited choice
of sushi.. haha!

Look at how much fun we can get from cleaning up after the party! haha! The birthday
girl is also like helping out lot! haha! well there was not a lot of stuff to clean out in the
first place so it is alright! Just some cups and cutlery here and there! We take pleasure
and fun in cleaning up!

HAHA!! So this is how meiqing look like when her mouth is full! haha! I was the one
looking from behind! weihong was the one who took this picture! haha!

Everybody that attended lilian's 21st birthday! wah.. so many people that I know are
celebrating their 21st birthday this year.. but then I don't think anyone's party will be
like this lor! the birthday girl don't even know what happened! ahah! I almost let slip
of the surprise party lor! haha

PA camp 2006! Well.. It is not much a camp to begin with anyway lar.. haha! It is basically
mpore like a gathering between the crew members lor! haha! Thanks to kangxun for
arranging such a big chalet for us to get together! haha! wah kangxun is like super proz
sia! he can always find the biggest chalet and thats like super tough sia! And the most
power of them all is that he managed to invite meiqing to join! haha! it is like super tough to
get her to come down to join such gatherings lor! Believe me.. I tried for 2 years liaoz! haha!
but also becasue I always ask at the last minute lor! haha!

shagged out lor! I even had trouble holding the camera still! and before this, I
was like super reluctant to get up to get the camera cos really too shagged and lethargic
liaoz! But then! I still did in the end! or else you wouldn't get to see this picture liaoz! haha

haha! I suppose after like 2 hrs of wakeboarding with crashed here and there! I will
be quite amazed if he still have the energy to like jump about energetically lar! but this
is like the extreme of the opposite! haha! sleeping like a dead long!! HAHA!!!

A meal prepared by kangxun during the 2nd night of the chalet I think.. Arh.. what the
hell! We went wakeboarding that particular day at east coast park! and it is like my 1st
time wakeboarding lar! so basically I was feeling all the aches in the body! haha! and
I suppose that was the case with everyone else! apparently kangxun still have enough
stamina to whip up such a wonderful meal for us sia! combined with great wine and beer!
The meal was really good man! haha! I suppose this is like the best meal you can ask for
in a chalet lar! of course! The clean up after that was like hell lar! haha

Look at their happy faces when they see the food! haha! Now I know how to make
them happy when they are down and sad! haha! I think a plate of really good looking
food should do all the trick! haha!

Alvin! Well thanks for inviting me to your 21st Bdae party man! I had fun there!
Especially getting to know your group! haha! you have a really great group man!
haha! Well..Didnt get to eat a lot during this party though.. I have no idea lehz..
apparently i was like feeling super full from eating nothing at all lar! haha! I can
still remember this guy man! haha! We got to know each other by just coming together
and talk a little bit of crap and thats it! haha! and it was all during the orientation lor!

Night cycling! This is taken right before all the people have started! everyone is still high
as ever! everyone eager to go! haha! maybe not the guys lar! haha! yongchuen and zhijian
just came back from the sports camp and I am sure they are pretty much shagged out lor!
Guangzhen just came from work and I touched down in singapore from malaysia that day!

Well, this is like the halfway stop for all the group! It is about 3 am liaoz..
and everyone can start to feel the shaggness falling in liaoz.. no matter how nocturnal
all of them are! We were suppose to like start from NUS, go towards chinatown, then
head down to one fullerton, followed by going on the nicoll highway.. entering east coast
pacrk at mountbatten.. and it will be more or less the end of the journey liaoz! haha! too
bad brenda counldnt join us lor! haha! But We had fun, became tired! talked quite a bit
and cycled hell a lot! haha! Look at all the shagged expressions on our faces! haha! This is like super far from NUS liaoz lar! And a lot did happen along the way! haha!

The kenshin group! Haha! had lotsa laughter and fun with this group lor! they
are like never down with energy one lehz! haha! There were like 4 girls that came
for the night cycling and 1 guy! Wah it was shag man! throughout the trip! haha!
Well the 7 people's load that I mentioned in the earlier post... 4 belonged to the
4 girls in this group, 2 from the 2 girls in my group and the last one is of course me!
haha! We are all having McDonalds at east coast park after the night cycling! haha!

Hiaz.. It is like 2.30am here again! And it seems to be really windy and cold tonight

somemore! Hmm.. cant wait for the next day to start down here man! I just came

back from pool game at the union recreational room! It is like 1 dollars for 9 people

each for that last 1 hr! It is pretty cool! We have lotsa fun together! And my

neighbours here seems very very friendly! So it is still pretty good life over here!

OKOK.. I think I gotta go to sleep also liaoz.. It has been 3 consecutive nights of

insufficient sleep sia! haha! I will try to update as soon as possible alright!? But

looks like it gotta wait till school starts! haha!

LOS ANGELES: 6 FLAGS MAGIC MOUNTAIN

Wah.. I will be flying of to UIUC soon liaoz.. leaving this coming monday! haha!

Looks like I still got lotsa things to prepare and I am suppose to be in batam the

whole of tomorrow for wakeboarding! damm.. UIUC don't have any mountains or

water bodies.. hiaz... sadz... And currently my room seems to be like in a state

of war!! With all the boxes and stuff laying all around! haha! But I had a great

birthday! Thanks to those people who came! And thanks for all the presents!

Well.. My trip to LA was all by myself liaoz.. Since all my family members went

back to singapore liaoz... leaving me all by myself in USA! So my days in LA

was mainly spent in a amusement theme park with all the crazy rides in the

world! I went to 6 Flags magic mountain in LA! It is a damm cool experience!

haha!! I like all the rides! Enjoyed the stay over there and they even have

fireworks display right before the park closing!

by anyone at all! Even by dynamite lar! haha! Well.. disneyland's mascot are disney
characters while 6 flags mascots are looney tunes characters!

haha! Well.. they were the mascots of 6 flags so must take a picture with them mah..

Attended the free shows over there.. This is suppose to be the show bout batman
begins lar! And that is supposedly the tumbler! or the bat mobil! ahha! The queue
to enter to see the show was there since don't know when lar! I only know that there
were a lot of people lining up when I got there! so You can imagine how sianz one can
get when you see a super long queue right in front of you! haha!

in the movies like blade or from dawn to dusk! the sun really set behing the horizon!
very very slowly ....

Hahah!!! I was crazy enough to go and try this out lar~~ this is called the dive devil..
They will pull you all the way up to super high and then you gotta pull the chord to
release yourself man! haha!! then you will experience a free drop before the cable
that is secured to you will swing you forward lor! haha!

This ride is Viper... It is suppose to like break a lot of world records on speed and
G-force! My kind of ride! Hiaz.. 1st day: still OK to go! .... 2nd day: headache lar!
....3rd day: neckache! haha what can I say.. I love thrills and speed!

This ride is called X! meaning Xtreme! haha! It is one hell of a cool ride! other
than the usual corkscrews and suddendrops and loop de loop and all the other
usual turns that you will experience from a roller coaster ride, the chairs rotate
360 degrees during the ride as well! The downside of it is that you gotta wait for like
3 hours just to take the ride sia... you can go something like Urggghhh during the
waiting !

Sighz... I think I might be going back to 6 flags again lor! They have like the most

thrilling and exciting rides ever! I suppose I will still have the chance to go back

and visit when I am studying over there! After the 6 flags.. It was back to

Singapore for me liaoz! haha! It was 24 hrs flight for me! MAN! was it tiring!!

I had lotsa fun over there during this USA trip though!!

CHICAGO.. THE LAND OF THE CHICAGO BULLS?

My family was still with me in chicago lar... and we went to take a tour around my

univeristy on the 3rd day.. they will be going back to chicago at the end of the day

which will be followed by the journey back to singapore while I was going to stay

back in my university to do y summer registration.. I was talking to some of my

friends who will be studying in NUS.. haha!! they were more or less going something

like.. hmmm.. bidding system arh... @$#%^&*! bidding system!! mine is not exactly

very to comprehend! ahaha! I spent something like 5 days just to understand the

system of registrating for your course and spent another 2 more days trying to plan

my classes!! haha!! I spent a frustrating week man!! haha!!

The 1st sunset we saw in USA.. although not the kind that will set behind the mountain,
it is still close enough already! haha!!

My mom! Waiting for us to get ready lar.. cos we were wondering should we take the
umbrella and should we take our jackets along with us... so in the end.. the result is
me and my bro kept on going back to the room to take stuff that we needed lar! and my
mom was just finding a place to sit down.. the happiness of finding a place to seat down!

Hmmm.. my mom was like seeing this picture and then saying that she look as if she
has shrunk!! haha!! Well.. I am not too sure bout she has shrunk lar.. but then I am
quite sure that the next time we are gonna take a picture.. must have brother in the
picture lar.. or else I will look like the giant in the picture! haha!

Forgotten where this picture was taken... but then I suppose it was from out hotel
room bah.. cos i dun really remember us going anywhere high up.. but imagine the
distance between the bridge and the position where the picture was taken... times
that distance by 5.. that is the distance that we walked during the 1st day in chicago!

Hmm.. think we chose quite a good time to go to the states =) It is summer time
and all the flowers hace bloomed liaoz! so basically where ever we went, we would
see flowers bloomed.. not blooming!! I think there are more flowers here compared
to singapore lar.. ermm.. duh... i suppose thats why they call singapore a green city
instead of a flower city.. haha!

Taking a rest after like walking a total distance of about 6km... I am kinda fine by it..
but then well... we all need a rest after walking for such a long distance right!? So the
tired look on our faces tell you everything you need to know for the walk!! haha! We
were kinda don't feel like getting up after we all sat down! ahha! talking bout
lazy butts!

is still quitte a lot of life in there! Got a shot glass that determines whether you are
a freshman, sophomore, junior or senior by the amount u drink! the more u drink.
the older you are!! the one that can drink the most is the dropout!! From school!!
Cos we all know that he will be having one hell of a hangover during all exams!

The city of chicago!! Taken from navy pier! I kinda thought it was new york city
until I saw the date this picture was taken lar! haha!! Well.. for another.. new york
city has more skyscrappers!

It is relly crowded.. and apparently... There are plenty of yacht! YES YACHT!
NOT BOAT! NOR SAMPAN!!! YACHT!! to take you on a short cruise on lake
michigan! But the downside and discouraging factor is of course the cost!

This is a picture taken from my room window! We have a very very nice view of
lake michigan... YES!! LAKE!!! NOT SEA!!! You really cannot see the other side of
this lake man.. It is one hell of a big lake... And we happen to get a very nice view
of navy pier from my room!

Well.. taken by my brother!! haha!! They were putting up a lot of this signboard
around the entire campus lar! And there were a lot of people wearing orange T-shirts
showing you around teh campus! and telling you all the nice spots to go for a date
and stuff like that!! haha!! nice seniors huh!?!? And they were like complaining that
PRC scholars or asian scholars are really power in pushing the bell curve lar!

This is along green street!! haha!! It aint such a fantastic looking place lar..
But at least it is quiet... peaceful and also because it is school holidays! so
it will be a little more quiet!! haha!!

This is the outside of the illini union building.. It is pretty cool! People just seat
around eating ice cream or drinking coffee! And the ice cream is simply great!!
I think I like the union building the most out of all the other buildings!! haha!!
Was there for 3 days lar! there was like 2 days of total sunshine and the last day
it was raining lightly.. and it was simply brrr... My family was only with me for
the 1st day before they had to leave to go back to singapore..

This is the main quad! The center of the entire campus!! The counsilors were
telling me that the people in the past actually had some troubles in designing where
the concrete path should be laid.. So basically.. They took the snow paths in the
winter and constructed a path over it in the summer! But this is one hell of a cool
place to be relaxing when you do not have any classes at all! haha!

Thats me, my mom and my bro.. I was suppose to be showing them around the
campus lar! But just one small little problem.. IT WAS ALSO MY 1ST TIME THERE!
So basically.. I was going around.. checking the map.. then tell them what building is
that... haha!! I am such a wonderful tour guide lar! haha!

Thats me in the main quad again..There were a lot of people hanging around! They
were playing freebie.. lying aroung reading.. playing baseball...you get the idea!
The thing is that the ground here is neither muddy nor dirty! Anyway.. it looks
great during summer! But a little hot that day lar...

The 'cookhouse' in the hostel.. haha!! I was jokin to my bro...saying that this
looks a lot like the army cookhouse! just that this one has aircon! Apparently..
I am not going to this hostel to stay lar.. This was my 1st choice.. but I got
posted to some other hostels to stay.. but it is just opposite the road! Hope
my new cookhouse will be better!!

The bowling alley at my school.. Pretty cool huh!?!? haha!! It is actually like
the recreation room in the illinois union!! I only just took a look at 1 of the
3 rooms... haha!! There were a lot of pool table as well!! I was spending all
the nights over there playing bowling and pool!!haha!!

chinese, indian, japanese, korean.. there is like a lot of food lar! ahha!!

One thing I learnt bout the states... you can and ONLY order appetizers!! Because the

portion of the food there is like super lar! haha!! They can like go for a 5 course meal..

while I have trouble trying to finish 1 course! haha!! So basically we were like sharing

2 people's share between 4 people! haha! ok lar.. at least I know i am not gonna be

starving in the states! I heard from my friend that the breakfast is like those sumptous

american breakfast buffets!! haha!! Hope i don't gain a lot of weight over there! Anyway..

I went over to Los Angeles after this..

HAHA!! I was just scanning through you tube! And found some really really funny

Moral of the video... Stick to the traditional running!!! It is more interesting and

What I have learnt!??! It does not mean that you can conquer all mountains

without the proper gear!!! the higher you climb... the more likely the mountain

will fall!!

USA TRIP: NEW YORK NEW YORK

I just went for wake boarding yesterday at batam!!! It was really really

fun and valued for money! It cost 80 dollars for an entire day of fun! It

includes the ferry ride and lunch as well!! It cost something like $20

an hour in singapore lar!! So basically this is counted as cheap.. anyone

who would like to try it out can inform me!! I don't mind going back

there again! Anyway... right now I am suffering from the whole body

muscle aching.. can't move around that much... I think I just lack of

exercise sia! haha!!

Anyway.. This time round.. I am going to write a blog about my trip

to USA! I went there with my family for the 1st part of the trip..

which is approximately 1 week.. Then I went on my own for another

1 more week to chicago and LA! I am gonna write about new york 1st

lar.. blogger don't let me upload a lot of pics lehz.. so basically I will have

to split up the trip lor! I left singapore on the 1st june and went to

New York..followed by chicago then to UIUC.. which was followed by

LA! Had a lot of fun there in USA! This will be the 1st part of my trip..

The USA trip!

ready lar.. I think he is still checking some stuff on his laptop.. Anyway..
We took a picture cos we were really really bored! the building to the left
is actually the national library! So basically.. we were staying really really
close to the national library! Too bad I didn't get the chance to go there!

The almost daily routine! Having breakfast at this place called.. I forgotten..
shit..jialat.. anyway.. we had breakfast here like 4 out of the 5 days!?!? They
serve full breakfast, sandwiches, cakes.. basically anything that you would like
to have for breakfast.. of course with the exceptions of wanton mee and stuff!
This is like a place where working people would just come in , buy and take away..
just to have it on the trains or some place else... I gotta wait for a hell lot of people
to finish their purchasing lar! the queue was bloody long!

The Trinity Church in New York City.. The movie 'National Treasure' had one
scene over here! It is were they will find the treasure!! underneath the church!
Hmmm.. perhaps if I have dug.. I would have found some treasure hidden
beneath it! and I will be rich!! HAHA!! * pass me a shovel man.. and help to
dig lar!! I think we will be done in 50 years time!! Hopefully no one finds us..*

This is inside the Trinity church.. They were having some kind of rehearsal
for an event when we went into the church.. I realised that there is a significant
difference between the churches in america and those that I have visited in
Europe!! For one... the one is europe is not air-conditioned...but the church
is nicer because they fill every part of the wall with either sculptures and
paintings!! Missing my german beer liaoz..

This.. My friends.. is Wall street! The financial center of New York! All the big
companies are situated over here... I was kinda expecting more from this street
lar! After all it is like the place where all the tradings are.. and stuff like that..
where lotsa money is involved!! And this is the best they can do.. It looks more
like an ulu pandan alley that no one wants to go in lar!..

This is taken at.. ermmmm.. broadway... My house address is actually
100 branksome road lar!! so we were just discussing about taking the
picture .. develop it on to a plaque and put it up on the front of our doors!
Then we will all be living on 100 broadway in singapore!! quite similar mah!
the 1st 2 letters are the same! Wah.. Our status got lifted by so much!!

The ground Zero of september 11 event! This is the remains of the world
trade centre! The twin towers! Or whatever is left of the rumble and ruins..
They made a make shift cross from the ruins and put it up there! When I was
over there.. There was construction going on in the site! Perhaps the next
building here would be a museum of september 11 event!! I think the person
will make big bucks man!!

OKay... This is like one sudden shot lar! I was looking at the signs and exhibits
over at the september eleven ground zero when my brother suddenly called
me lar!! I turned and he took the photo... So basically this is a candid shot..
I don't remember why I looked so blur then lar! Must be not enough sleep!
so feeling very sleepy!! or is it the result of breakfast!?

Lunch at Balthazar!! My brother! We were waiting for the food to be served!
The food is nice and the wine that goes along with it is superb!! I forgot how
much the meal costed us though.. But that was one filling lunch! It made me
full all the way till night!

What we ordered for lunch that day! A really big seafood platter! filled to the brim
with cold seafood!! Oysters, clams, mussels, calamaris, prawns! Yum!! It really
reminds me of the seafood platter I had in paris when I was in Sec4 ... Just that
I got food poisoning the very next day and it was the start of my thinning regime!
I went from 110kg to 85kg in 3 months after that! The whole thing was meant for
2.. and we, a party of 4, cannot finish the entire thing!! comes to show how much can
2 american eat!! I think they will order salads and stuff before and desserts after!

My favourite dessert, Creme Beau Le!! Together with the coffee and tea they
were serving.. MMMmmmmm.... Wanna have creme beau le!!!

This is taken at a cafe! All the decorations in the cafe is constructed using kitchen
utensils!! The lamps are actually constructed using ladles and wine glass!!

We are going to watch the beauty and the beast on new york broadway! The
screen is pretty cool! It is actually a piece of cloth with light shone from the
back! I thought it was actually a LCD screen at first! Since the screen looks
so real mah!! until the screen starts to rool up before I realised that it is not
LCD screen lar! haha! The place was actually having a full house that day!
I didn't know that people will actually come for shows on a weekday night!

The intermission of beauty and the beast! HAHA!! We are trying to get some
sleep before the show starts!! Or else we would be sleeping through the show
lar!! The ticket is not cheap either!! It is about 80 usd per person! But apparently
there is not much use arh.. the rest seemed to make it harder to stay awake! I
Should know.. I was starting to get really sleepy towards the end!

We have just finished watching Beauty and the best on broadway! Look at our faces!
We look really shag!! and we are really really shag!! We were almost sleeping through
the show lar! haha!! It is really really hard to take a picture here.. Cos there are a lot
of people walking through.. so basically there are always people cutting through our
line of shot!

This is a very very interesting bike!! It actually takes about 8 people to ride it!
When I saw this.. I was like wondering how the hell the gear works lar!! Since all
the 8 people are not cycling in the correct direction.. according to my bro.. the
people are actually turning a common gear at the bottom of the bike in 1 direction!
Well.. I didnt get to try the bike lar! HAHA! But I managed to see a couple trying
very very hard to cycle!! They seemed to be super tired from it lar!

New York Times Square! Although it is called the times square.. It is like so
not square lar! It is more like a rectangular square! It is actually more like
one really really wide road! But it will get pretty crowded at night! And when
I say crowded.. I mean really really crowded lar! Very hard to walk through
the crowd at night lor! Hmm.. I think I will be coming here for the new year
Countdown this year!! haha!! Anyone wanna join in the fun!?

They are selling both raw and cooked food.. And there are plenty of fruits and
vegetables to choose from! The choice of food is humongous! You can purchase
anything down here and bring it upstairs to eat! For example.. You can purchase
a bottle of milk and a packet of cereal and go up stairs to eat! They would have
bowls! HAHA!! Although we were looking for breakfast to eat, we didn't eat here..

I think I still have the sleepy look lar!!! after all... This is only the 3rd day! I think
I was still having a little bit of jet lag! Especially when the time difference is 12 hours!
Anyway.. we already almost slept through the entire beauty and the beast the previous
night!

This is one of the pastries shops in chelsea market... selling all kinds of cupcakes
and pastries! hmmm... I almost came here for breakfast for one of the mornings
lar! Even when I came at about 10am, most of the shops are not yet open yet!
And I thought can have breakfast here lar.. in the end I had bagel for breakfast!

Cupcakes!! YUM!!! Well.. Okay.. I have only trie one before.. and that was not
even counted as one... It was more like 1 cupcake shared by the family! There
is a lot of cupcake shops in new york city lar! And there is a lot of varieties as
well!! The creamy frosting at the top of the cupcakes contains a little cheese!!
Hmmm.. nice but very very fattening!!

Squirrels!! Okay... Squirrel..We manage to take a picture of this one when we were
in the central park of NYU..Actually there are a lot of squirrels when we were
there!!! They were actually eating the aluminium foils that were used to package
food.. You can see them plucking the wrappings open and ravaging for any crumbs
left inside! They were just scurrying around.. I was kinda hoping that I brought
along peanuts or walnuts then lar! So can feed mah...

Been to New YTork University! I know I am not going over there to study lar!
But then I was just curious about how the university looked like!! Afterall,
some of my friends and relatives are studying over there!! Too Bad they were
not around when I went over there!! So basically we were not allowed in the
school campus.. We only managed to walk around it and view the buildings lar!

Their defination of McDonalds!! Hmm.. I really gotta re-learn everything when
I go over there to study huh!?!? Their McDonalds looks just like a theatre lar!
And the amazing thing is that the place where the people sell the tickets for shows
have become the place where they sell the fastfood!! This is pretty cool man! I mean
their supersized fries is like 2 times as big as the large fries in singapore!!

somemore! My mom has been half hidden my sister!

Macy's... It is one hell of a huge shopping centre lar!! It is something like
takashimaya in singapore.. just that this one is 4 times as big.. They sell
a lot of branded and non branded items.. They just throw really expensive
stuff like calvin kleins and hugo boss on the table!! like some pasa malam!
You can almost find any brand in here lar! Guess, addidas, and all sorts of
stuff!! furniture, household items, clothes.. Apparently, americans have a
different defination of branded and expensive!

This is one of the elevators in Macy's! It is bloody old and a little faster than the
modern ones.. I think the people in the past do not have a sense of safety in the
past! Anyway.. I was kinda wondering how come the 1st 7 levels were using the
modern elevators and this kind of elevators for the rest 7 floors!! I think might
just be not enough money to renovate completely arh!! haha!! Anyway.. It is
bloody painful to stand on these elevators... the grills on the steps has a smillar
theory to jiao3 di3 an4 mo2 ( foot reflexology in the parks).. It will be damm painful
to stand on one of these for long period of time.. especially for thin sole shoes..

The empire state building.. Strange.. I was walking along here as well and
I saw my brother taking the picture.. But I did not realise what I saw until
I got back to the hotel and look at the picture again. Well, I was thinking
about KING KONG when I saw this picture.. Maybe that was what that
sparked off the memory!!

That was more or less New york for me! I like the hotel room!! very big

amount of space to move around... big beds.. friendly housekeepers..

wireless internet.. The only bad thing is the price... We stayed in bryant

park hotel.. It is like a mid range hotel.. but because we stayed in downtown

manhatten.. hence the price of the acommodation is higher... Anyway..

I flew to Chicago the next morning!! I was in New York for 5 days and 4

nights.. enjoyed it.. but I think I liked chicago better though.. Cos it is not

as crowded!! =)

THE BEGINNING OF THE END! GERMANY!

After 3 long post! This is the last of my europe trip! This one is the start of the

journey!! Where all the fun all began!! haha!! And.. before I left singapore..

My mom and sister asked me to call back every single day lar!! or else they

will call me lar!! the 1st time they called.. it was like 6am over there lar!! and

my handphone was like super loud lar!! So everyone was like awoken by it!!

Anyway.. this post is the last part of the blog!! It is about germany! Hiaz..

still kinda sad that german lost lar!! wah luaz.. I made the bet with my camp

mates that the one who supports the loser team will jump into the pool when

the match ends! Hmm.. maybe I should have supported italy then!!

The plane!! took SIA !!! I was super bored from all the sitting and sleeping!
I know... SIA have the in-flight entertainment system... but you could still get
bored!! plus the knees were really stiff liaoz... the picture was taken at that
moment in time!! everyone on the plane was still sleeping!

The 1st dinner we had in germany! Pork knuckles, roast duck and roast pork...
mmmm.... I am currently eating german wurst... and typing this post as well!!
That was like one of the best dinners so far!! What the hell am I talking about!?!?
That was the only dinner I had so far!! But then the quality of the food and beer
is simply too good!!

The 1st experience to german beer! It is simply great!! I like the malt aftertaste!!
It is not like the normal kinda beer that we drink in singapore!! I suppose I know
why the germans rather drink beer than water... They say you cannot survive
without water for 3 days.. i think a normal german cannot survive for 1 day without
beer!! haha!!

Deutschen museum! The meseum of all the science stuff lar! It is like a
super big place lar!! containing all the science stuff!! planes, chemistry,
physics.. all that are related to technology and science!! dammit!! we
spent something like half a day in there and we can only cover 2 rooms!
It is freaking huge place man!!haha!!

The so called parliment house lar!! It will get very very crowded around 12pm
like that.. All the people are like waiting for the tower to chime at 12pm!! the
statues at the top of the tower will start to rotate around! like a merry go round!
A pity that we did not go in and take a look around.. hiaz...

This is the wiew from the top of st peter's cathedral!! I even went to count
the number of steps needed to get to the top of the tower!! There is 300
steps!! okay lar.. +-50!! cos I don't know whether I made a error! But you
gotta get shag in order to get a really good view of munich! haha!!

This is the castle that inspired the diney castle!! You remember the castle
that is situated closest to the entrance!?! Or rather all the castles in the fairytales!
Yepz.. this is the castle that inspired how all the disney castles to look like!
HEHE!! We took 2 hours train just to get to the place! All the way from munich!

The waiting for the castle tours to begin is like super tour lar! It is a really
touristy!! There were a lot of chinese, japanese and korean! But when the
tour finally starts... We were super happy!! haha!! course it means that we
do not need to stand around looking for stuff to take a picture!! haha!! The
picture is taken from inside the castle!! imagine living there lar!! you get
such a good view!! haha!!

This picture is taken from the bridge over looking the castle!! We gotta climb
up a super steep hill in order to get there lar!! and the bridge was like super
crowed with people!! we had quite a trouble trying to take a picture!! because
the bridge is really really narrow.. so basically it is kinda hard to get a good pic
or rather focusing the camera!!

HAHA!! Tiankai was like complaining why the hell he was crazy to climb
this part of the mountain!! haha!! the path was really really narrow and
slippery!! plus the edge of the road is really really scary! one wrong step
and thats it for you!! you will fall all the way to the bottom of the mountain!!!
But after that he was like super proud that everyone walked this trail except
xiaoyang!! haha!! but too bad we didnt make it to the top lar!! cos the trail was
getting more and more dangerous and neverending one!! haha!

Our 1st home made meal in Germany!! Hwee see was very kind to cook for us!
We had beef stew and stew vegetables!! Together with german beer!! ARHHH!
It was a filling and nice dinner!! ( gotta say nice even if not nice lar...haha!!but it
is seriously nice!) We had a lot to drink that night!! Beer was followed by wine..
Then it was followed by schnapps.. We all almost fell drunk that night!! haha!!

HAHA!! I am just posing for the picture!! I think I was more drunk than
I look!! haha!! Each bottle was like >50% alcohol content lar! Tiankai even
put double shots of ameratto into his coffee lar!! he had such a hangover
after that!! haha!! I don't even know what I crapped about that night liaoz!
I think I was high on alcohol!!^^ See!! I even need to put my arms on the
table to stabalise myself!! HAHA!!

Look at our faces!! See how high we were!! I think the alchohol to food ratio
that night wa something like 100:1 !! haha!! Or I think I just couldnt remember
lar!! I can only remember drinking hell a lot that night!! haha!! Tiankai was already
have drunk liaoz!! haha!! look at his sleepy face!! He really complained bout the
hangover that night lar! haha!!

It is something like the last few nights we were spending in munich.. So basically,
Our host, Hwee See, took us around munich!! Our own dedicated tour guide!! She
took us to the site where the annual oktober fest is held! I could only take a small part
of the entire site! It is seriously big! it is almost the size of 3 national stadiums put side
by side! haha!! Imagine the entire site covered with tents being set up 1 month before
the opening of the oktober fest!!! They use wood and stuff!! The whole thing takes them
another month to take down!! And breweries get selected to participate in this event!
Hmm... one advice for anyone who wanna go for the oktober fest, you gotta book for
your accomodation 1 year in advance! haha!

Our easter sunday brunch!! We had a really good host!! To let us put up in her
home! She invited us to her sister's house for a sunday easter brunch on a
sunday! (DUH!!! hahaa) It is super nice lar! look at the smiles on their faces!
We had wine, we had champagne, we had hams and salmon's!! ( salivating..)
We had bread and goose liver!! we had salads, fruits and cheese! It is a wonderful
brunch! Yum Yum!! haha!! We became really really full! I think I gained the most
amount of weight when I was in germany sia.. hiaz.. good food in germany and bad
food for the rest of the trip! So must enjoy while we can!

Andechs Bier! Haha! mainly it means german beer produced from a monastry!
And I thought that monks are like not suppose to consume alcohol! haha!! From
what I heard, beer is like the 4th main food group! So it is not counted as a
taboo! Hmm.. All the stuff germans can come out with just to drink some more!
haha! But the black color beer on the left is power! It is very very strong but
super tasty! each one of these glasses are like 1 litre lar! haha! I tried to drink
one by myself but it is like super hard man! Beer bloated! haha!

We had a heavy rainfall on our way to Andechs... We were like super sad lar!
We were expecting to go there and enjoy the sunlight! Drinking beer under
the sun and have a good time!! but then, the rainfall really spoilt our trip there!
The thing is that when we got there! the rain stopped!! YEAH!!!! and we
chose a good spot! We managed to see a rainbow just right where we were seating
lar!! It is super beautiful!! though it lasted for something like 3 min.. but then,
it was still enough time for me to take a picture! We could even see the end of
the rainbow!! haha!! so maybe we get to find a pot of gold there!! haha!! We
will be rich!!! It was really a beautiful day man!

Look at how high we were after drinking all the beer!! Tiankai is totally flushed!
Man!!! Told you the beer was super strong!!! I could feel the dizziness man! They
have super big pretzels!! We just could not finish it!!But they were seriously good
and I virtually kept ordering pretzels when I was in germany!!

really nice view huh!!! It is actually schloss hieldeberg! It is actually a
castle constructed on top of a hill.. It is actually nicer at night!! when they light
up the castle! This is our 1st hostel for the entire trip and we get such a good
view!! Does that mean that our luck has just begun!?!? haha!! But then the
bad thing was that it is being owned by a pub, so basically when we tried to
check out, we could not because the pub is not opened yet!! we were almost
scared the hell out! Because that would mean that we would have to miss the
train to out next destination!! haha!!

This is taken from the cellar inside schloss hiedelburg! I am like 180cm and
xiaoyang is like 184cm!! bloody hell!! We are not even close to the radius of
the barrel lar!! And this is like a smaller version already! the bigger version
of this takes up an entire 2 storey room!! And it is one hell of a big room!!
The people in the past really know how to drink man!! I think they drink
a little too much!! But they look like jolly holly people to me=) All must
be high from the alcohol! haha!!

This is like one of the fountains that we managed to see along the way!! It is
located in the garden of schloss hiedelberg! Looks like a super cool structure
huh!?!?! I have forgotten what is the name of this fountain lar! It has been so
long since I came back from my europe trip liaoz! But we managed to see a lot
of fountains in the garden!

This is shocking!! The even have a prison for the students in the university at
hiedelberg!! Imagine this.. You pontang school and you will get locked up in here
lar!! The students must be super sianz in here lar!! because they name the room
like the ritz carlton suite and Le grande!! haha!! all these pictures on the wall is
actually drawn by the students themselves!! Told you they seem seriously sianz
liaoz..At least right now they do not have this ridiculus system anymore! haha!
Or else I suppose nobody from germany would wanna go into that university liao!
unless it is like a super power university lar!! Each room got like 1 table, chair and
bed! Hmm.. no form of entertainment.. I think the students can die lar!

Havana! It is one of the restaurants that serves mexican cuisine! A really
really nice looking place lar! the flower from the tree on the right was falling!
It is really really beautiful! Guess what!! The guide book did not even recommend
this place to us!! The food.. Okay lar.. nothing very special.. but that is like all the
rest of the food that we had been having!! After this meal... I went through
something like 2 weeks of sickness!! It ws torturous man!

This was what we ate at the restaurant that night! mexican cuisine and coffee
and hot chocolate! I had a burito!!! I have nothing to comment about the
food but the restaurant is super smokey!! so baiscally I was having quite a
tough time in there!! Breathing!! I was almost suffocating from all the smoke
in there!! But with me feeling very very hungry.. what else can be done!

We had to hike up to almost the top of the hill in order to catch a glimpse
of what the old town of hiedelberg look like!! It was worth all the effort in
climbing!! We were like complaining about how bloody tiring the climb was lar!
The gradient of the slope is like almost vertical lar!! Plus all of us have not
even been exercising for quite a long time liaoz.. so baiscally the climb was like
the prelude to the whole of europe trip! We did not know that we will be climbing
hell a lot of mountains later!!

This is the street our hostel is located and this is one hell of a busy street! There
are hell a lot of shops being set up down here and the restaurants nearby just
threw some tables and chairs around the square and start to sell beer to the
people!! When there is a big and beautiful sun up... You will be able to see all the
germans come out to drink!! I tell you.. They drink more beer than water lor!!!
We had to walk this entire street with our back packs on on the 1st day lar!!
The train station is like located at the start of the street and our hostel just
had to be located at the end of the streets! We had to walk about 20 min just
to go there!!

Our hotel room in Triberg!! YESH!! hotel room!!! Although there is no
TV or room service.. but for 23 euros a person.. we had a super good
room lar!! with an attached bathroom lehz!! You have no idea how happy
we were when we saw the room lar!! We are just calculating the budget
spent during the day! It is like a daily routine liaoz... HAHA!! It looks
like we can get pretty high when we are calculating!!

The specialty of the black forest region! The black forest cake!! I tell you..
I thought that black forest cake in black forest region means that the cake must
be incredible!! super delicious!! Man.. I was wrong lar!! The only thing that is
special is that the cake is super big only!! The taste was so-so lar... There was
nothing special about it! This is like the High Tea of that day!! haha! We were
suppose to be on budget! But apparently we still managed to go and get high
tea!! Of course.. that would mean that the dinner later on must be a super cheap
one lar!! or else no more budget to travel the rest of the trip liaoz! We had kebap
later on!! When we are looking for cheap meals.. That would mean kebap or pizzas!

The world largest cuckoo clock!! And i mean largest! It is actually a house! and
you gotta pay something like 3 euros in order to take a look at the garden! The
cuckoo cuckoos every 30min! we were waiting for about 20 min just for the thing
to cuckoo! There will be a bird that comes out and the man with the green shirt will
move his axe up and down! It has a really loud cuckoo sound! We were the only one
that is like peeking from outside while the rest paid to go inside to take a look! Hmm..
We really save our money to the max lar! haha!!

The rocks were like super slippery and it was bloody cold and wet!! HAHA!! I am
not as pro as tiankai lar!! climbing all the way out! Xiaoyang was like super shocked
that we were climbing to such dangerous places just to take a picture lar! We were
like telling him that we would stip cllimbing if he were to treat us black forest cake!
HAHA!!! and he actually agreed!! Eh xiaoyang!! We are still waiting for that cake lehz!

We were like taking all the super nice pictures lar!! cos we had to risk getting
wet man!! and it is really dangerous to get wet lar! The weather is not exactly
very warm and plsu we do not have an extra piece of footwear! The items here
don't dry out as fast either!! So basically we had to cross the stream to this rock
to take the picture! But it was a very very cool and fun experience lor! haha!!

Looking for the best spot ot have our lunch! The lunch for the whole of europe
trip is mainly just sandwiches or pastries! It is hardly a real meal lar! We would
like buy extra bread and sandwiches and go around looking for places with the
nicest view and eat! Look at the happy expressions on our faces!! Migre food with
Good food!! Aiyar.. It balanced out in the end lar!! nothing can be perfect lar!!

We climbed up another hill just to take a good shot with a good view!! Of course..
We could feel the aches in our feet and knees and all over us at the end of the
day lar! After I took this picture, I was like doing an equipment check.. seeing
if all my items are around...guess what!! MY KEYS ARE GONE!! The keys that
hwee see entrusted to me!! OH SHIT!! Of all the things to lose I just gotta lose
the bunch of keys to her house lar!! I had to go back up all the mountains I
climbed that day lar!! just to find the stupid key.. Xiaoyang and Tiankai were
kind enough not to tease me more when I was finding the key lar! Of course...
by saying that.. I am saying that they did not let me off after that either!! haha!!

Guess what!! After going up and down so many hills and mountain just to look
for the stupid key!! I FOUND IT LYING ON THE FLOOR IN THE HOTEL ROOM!!
what the hell!! tiankai was like almost trashing me lar!! And by saying trashing... I
meant really trashing with a trashcan!! they never did let the story go and they never
let me forget that I lost the key lar!!! HAHA!! they were like saying that I should treat
them because I lost the key lar! HAHA!! Well, it was my carelessness lar!! I seriously
CANNOT MAKE IT!! Of course... that was not the only flop that I did during the entire
trip lar!! haha!! Well thx TK and XY!!!

Well Thats like the start of my europe trip but the end of my blog on europe trip!

They rest of the europe trip are basically old post lar!! As I said during the 1st post

my my trip to europe.... The lastest post will be the ealier part and the more old post

will be the later part! So hope you had fun reading ( or rather looking at the pictures

I HAVE SOLVED THE PROBLEM!

HAHA!! Finally!! The problem has been solved by simply changing the stupid Tagbox!

HAHA!! There is no more error in the page liaoz!! Hence the part about microsoft

encountering an error on my blog is no more!! YEAH!! Finally man!! I gotta like do

the entire blog over step by step!!! Wah lauz... Finally man... Hey people! The downside

of all of these changover will result in all the previous post being deleted!! So basically,

looks like all the previous post has been deleted! DAMM!!! Now I gotta go and solve

my laptop problem of not having a single antivirus! Anywayz.. I have just came back

from Redang.. but then it will all be on another post! Try to be fast bout it! But I show

NEW BLOG SKIN!!

Hey dudes!! I have recently just changed the blog skin!!! well

I gotta thank lionheart for designing such a nice blog skin!!! haha

But there is just one problem now... Most of you will encounter the

explorer have encountered an error... so basically the window will

auto close... so basically Bear with it for a moment alright!? I am

currently trying to solve it!! Plus I am trying to get my new laptop

up as well.. so it might not be fast!

Went to simlim for the past two days to get all the stuff I need for university...
This are the things I got.. A laptop ( T60 1.83 duo core, 1G ram, 80 hard drive,
256mb ATI graphics card and a 3 year international warranty), A Laptop
bag.. A PDA ( IPAQ RX 1950 with 1G memory upgrade ), A mouse ( G5 logitech),
A PDA pouch, 2 softwares ( norton system works 2006 and office 2003), and a
webcam ( for skype!).. all in all i have spent a lot of money liaoz... heart pain!!

Well.. gotta get back to fixing all the problems!

SWITZERLAND: THE LAND OF COWS, SCENERIES AND CHOCOLATES

Hey Hey!! I have just came back from the engineering

night cycling!! It is really really shag sia!! I mean my

programme for last week is something like: Monday to

Thursday is NUS PA camp, Friday to Saturday I was in

Malaysia relaxing and having lotsa fun! ( when I say fun,

I mean pigging out..haha) Saturday come back to Singapore

... Went to Alvin's birthday party after that and realised

that he actually have a super good OG during the engine

Camp! haha! ( thanks Alvin for inviting me to your birthday

party! I had a great time talking to your group since you

were busy running around!! haha) After which, I gotta run

down ( and I don't mean literally) to NUS engine pavillion

for the night cycling!! Although it has been seriously a long

time since I last rode a bike, I think I am still not bad lar!

why you might ask... firstly, I am still able to do slides and

ride handless and managed to impart some of my supreme

knowledge ( haha jokin only lar!?!?!) to my counsilor! He was

able to slide at the end of the trip liaoz!! =) Secondly, I was

carrying 7 PEOPLE"S LOAD THROUGH THE ENTIRE

NIGHT CYCLING! haha!! I only found out that I could

actually deposit all the bags in the lorry after I started out!

But then the counsilors did ask me whether I wanted to have

my bags in the lorry lar! Thinking of all the valuables inside

and how inconvenient it would get if I don't have a bag to carry

all my items, I rejected!! The result!?!? I carried the bags

all the way!! Well, to start, there are my items, followed by

2 girls from my groups items, followed by items belonging to

4 girls from my neighbouring group! HAHA!! They owe me a

Treat!! Lastly, I was still able to beat them at the race in east

coast park!! From the start of the park all the way till the marina

cove there! But then I felt totally shagged out after that man!

The whole thing was fun!! I enjoyed myself a lot!! Especially

When I found out that george and ameet are like the best

combination lar!! You simply cannot fight with them and win in

an argument! Anything they say will be the start of a new argument!

It is seriously funny through the whole part where we were

cycling together! Alright! This post is suppose to be about the

next part of my europe trip! Which is switzerland!! The land filled

to the brim with all sorts of cows!! Big cows, small cows; black cows

brown cows; fat cows, skinny cows; nice cows, fart cows( cows that

fart a lot!?); milk cows, chocolate cows!!( I will leave it up to your

imagination on what that would mean) normal cows, and HUMAN

COWS( that would be me! I was born in the year of the cow!haha)

Well, basically you get the idea! Other than being a cow country,

It is also a chocolate country!!( I know that a lot of people will love

this! haha!! the chocolate country! yuuummm!!) OKOK.. I shall

save the explanation for later in case I start drooling all over my

keyboard...( I just lazy to clean up lar!! Freaking troublesome lehz!)

So let me start...

For switzerland, we visited the beautiful city of luzern, with a

marvellous lake!( wah sound like I am doing free advertising

for the city arh!?!) We visited interlaken ( with 2 simply beautiful

lake and a towering mountain which is called the jungfrau,

signifying the top of europe.. nice view, fresh air, what can you

ask for more!?!? We visited Geneve next, the country closest to

France! Yet again, it has a nice lake ( apparently the switz just

siply cannot get enough of the lake and mountains and all those

cheese!! sampling it like wine...EEWWWWWWwwww) it is more

crowded, it has a lot of embassies and united nations is there as

well!! Lastly, we visited Bern.. The capital city of switzerland..

It simply means bear... the national animal of the country..

Sorry to my companions for this trip arh!! I know I cocked

up quite a lot during this trip!! haha!! but then you guys had

quite a good laughter about it right!? and lots of story to tell!!

haha!! but thanks to you guys the damage was not as bad lar..

we had fun and lotsa fresh air!!! and some cheese as well!!

We were travelling to luzern and had to choose between two routes..
one: take the train straight there and look at more mountains again
two: take the train to konstanz and then change train to luzern...
Well, we were thinking about it then it hit us that there is a beautiful
lake konstanz... so why not!?!? We went to lake konstanz in the end!

It is like when we reached there, we saw this lake almost immediately!
I know..DUH!!! the size of the lake!?!? Even blind can see lar!!
haha ( contadicting huh!?!) but then we got a super nice looking view!
so basically we decided to have our lunch out here!

Nice view!! but lousy food... What to do!?!? Travelling on a budget
lar!! Bread and pastries for lunch... man.. I think it was not enough
then lor!! hiaz... But look on the bright side!! the good view compensates
the food!! haha!! plus we managed to get some sunlight!!! after like
1 week of gloom, cold and shivering in germany!

Well, the stop over in konstanz was not for long..We can only stop
down there for only like 2 hours before we had to go again to catch
the next train to luzern! We had to say see ya to the sun, beach
and nice scenery! So basically, the train that We were taking to
switzerland was like one of them nicest train I have seen so far!
( mainly they have a super high tech toilet which I may say..I still
cannot find the way to flush the toilet! Or swtich on the tap!) I like
the huge amount of leg space I have in this train ride and virtually
all the switzerland trains I will be taking( noting this is only the 1st
day in switzerland!)

One thing I realised in Europe.. No matter how much you like nature
or good scenery.. no matter how different the mountains looks... enough
is enough! It can get really boring from just looking out the window and
taking a look at the snow-capped mountains or the farms!! The other
thing I realised is that if you feel really really tired and want a shut eye..
remember to let your friends go to sleep first.. because you have no idea
what will happen after your eyes are closed! They took a candid picture of
me!

One thing that you will not need to worry about in switzerland..
There are plenty of water bodies around! This is a water fountain
outside the train station! It was not switched on when we 1st saw
it because there were a lot of backpackers partying around the
fountain!! We were like wondering what the hell is happening over
there!??!?!?! We found out that a super big group of american
students are actually having the time of their live over there! drinking
and dancing! When the water fountain actually came alive, all of them
ran away! We found that a rainbow is created by the fountain..so we
took a photo of it!!

I was hoping that the hostel will turn out quite alright! simply because I
did not see any room pictures of what the hostel will be like! I just thought
the hostel was kinda cheap plus the comments about it are pretty good!
so why not try it out! It is a place that is almost filled to the brim with asians!
Koreans, Japs, Chinese! IT is not a bad place! We get to have a seriously nice
park right in front of our hostel! ( like more scenery again!) We had a really
small room to share among the 3 of us! We managed to cope it! somehow!

With our hostel located right beside the lake! how can I give the
lake a miss!?!? It is like a super cooling place when the day is super
hot! In this park, I am just bloody lucky lar! I kanna bird shit! Yes!
I kanna bird shit right down here!! Partly it was due to my fault
since I did not see the piece of shit over at the railing ( ... okok!!...
It is totally my fault.. I was blind enough not to see the pile of bird
faeces lying on the seat! I tried to take a picture with a swan by the
lake!( sounds like swan lake huh!?!? but tell you.. this is not! I think
I almost slept through swan lake!) But I think the swan don't quite
like me! because he flew away the moment I approached it!

Coming to Luzern already.. must of course visit the auntie tourist
location!! so of course we chose the chapel bridge! It is not exactly
filled all the way up with aunties like what xiaoyang said lar!! This
picture is nice right!? nope.. we did not take the picture of a poster..
we really simply just have a super good photograper in our party!!
I shall say who is it but uh hmm....haha

Do you know why luzern is called luzern?!?!?haha!! Wanna know!?!?
Like I know like that!! haha!! I am quite sure that you must have thought
that I knew what the hell I was asking!! haha!! to be frank I seriously
dunnoe lar.. I only know that there is a lake luzern where luzern is( DUH!)
We went to take a cruise around it!! We were awake during the 1st part of
the journey.. Basically the return journey is a eyes close journey!!haha

Our 1st dinner in Switzerland and last dinner in Luzern!! When you come to
switzerland.. You must try out their beef!! If you have never tried out their
steak or beef!! You have let down all the Switz cows man!! they would be crying!!
They will be super disappointed man!! Me and xiaoyang ordered beef straight
away without consideration man.. tiankai being unable to eat beef ordered pork..
In the end...Only tiankai has something to complain about his food..See lar.. the
chefs unhappy that tiankai did not order beef!! the plate of food at the front belongs
to me!

Cheese fondue!! How can we not try out the switz famous dish!! cheese fondue!
I almost gotta treat everyone cheese fondue cos I lost my way to the hostel! That
is not the worst part!! the worst part is that I was actually pretty confident that
I was going in the direction until nothing seems right at all!! I was making everyone
walk around with their back pack on!! well.. Cheese fondue= bread + melted cheese
with white wine! Anyone who cannot hold their liquor.. please.. you should try lots
of this!! We were simply too smart!! we ordered cheese fondue for each!! we had to
fight to finish it!! not with each other of course!! but when you go up to your 20th
piece of bread.. you just feel like dying liaoz

We reached our 2nd destination!! The samll little town of interlaken ( small little
my foot!! It is quite big lar!! Especially when you don't have a car and have a heavy
load on your back! by walking from the train station to our hostel took us about 15
mins of walking! We decided to save the money, hence we decided to walk instead of
taking the funicular up the hill!!! *PANTZ* but at least the view from up the hill
is pretty good!! It has an overview of what the town of interlaken looks like! Also, at
certain angles, it will show the lakes beside interlaken!

We were like quite shag when we got to the top of the hill!! other than just
taking pictures of the scenery ( always photos of mountains, water and snow
can get quite sianz one lehz!!) we took pictures of each other!! Xiaoyang was
taking a picture of Tiankai taking a picture of me.. I actually wanted to complete
the circle by taking the picture of Tiankai.... but then my camera does not have
any battery!! sadz...

In the morning, we gotta get up really really early just to check out, catch an
early train up the mountains to Junfrau.. since the train ride needed 2 hrs to
reach our terminal station... we slept! One time up and down the mountain cost
about 90 dollars singapor dollars!! Thats like so expensive lar!! We had to save up,
scrimp and save for a long long time before we can go for the trip up the mountains!
When we reached up there!! Luckily there was no clud, no wind, big bright sun!! It
is the perfect weather to come up to Jungfrau!! It was very very bright!! so bright
that taking pictures becomes a problem!! But still we managed to take a picture!

Since we are at Jungfrau, I thought might as well take a scary picture! I enlisted
the help of Xiaoyang to help me take the picture while I climb out of the barrier
and take a picture of me on the ridge! I thought that the view was pretty nice
on the outside!! too bad Xiaoyang don't dare to climb the thing and come back!
you missed out quite a long bro!!

They say that by conquering the mountain.. you should put the flag over there..
and hold it and admire the view at the top of the mountain!! I didnt think it was
what easy!! haha!!! We have the flag!! We have the nice view at the top of the
mountains...We have virtually everything!! Just that we are just smarter to
take the train up there!! haha!! OKOK.. too cold.. time to go in for a chocolate
break!! KIT KAT TIME!!! haha!

As I was saying earlier..When you are up on a train with all your friends....
Do not ever ever sleep before you friends!! or else you will never know what they
will do to you when you fall asleep!! HAHA!! I am simply the one that is not asleep
this time round!! haha!! Everyone was simply sleeping liaoz.. ok.. rather it was
xiaoyang that was sleeping liaoz!! so basically he was the one that was more of less
SABOED!! haha!!!

This is really you2 shang1 wan2 shui3 ( direct translation: swimming mountain
playing water!! haha) But then We never did expect the mountain to have any
waterfall at all!! Cos it is a snow covered mountain!.. so basically we thought
that there is no water at all!! It is spring! the season where life starts!!!

Our hostel in interlaken! It is like the best hostel so far because it has
a lot of room space and most of all!! It has a ping pong table!! It is really
interesting to see a caucasian playing table tennis lar!! We had lotsa fun
playing ourselves!! we were like having dinner and playing at the same time!!
haha!!! Plus this hostel does not feel like a switz hostel!! the cashier can speak
english with a very strong american accent!! And this cashier is damm power
lar!! She is like the cook , shopkeeper, front desk and housekeeping and bartender
as well!! this is like one of the hostel where we actually had a lot of fun!!! haha!!

This is the view that we got from out room!! The mountain is Jungfrau!!
We were really sianz when we saw all the clouds lar!! cos with clouds =
cold+wind = more suffering.. so basically nobody likes suffering!! haha!!
plus it was starting to rain at night lar!! we were almost praying that the
next day better be a good weather man!! haha!! but we get quite a good
view from our room!! haha!!

Geneve.. Thank you hwee keng!! Thanks to you!! we got really really
good food!! and of course a really nice place to sleep in!! but then I simply
slept through the night with xiaoyang kept tugging at the blanket lar!! I
thought he did not have enough blanket... so in the end I was sleeping with no
blanket lar!! in the morning when I woke up.. I found that most of the blanket
are on the ground liaoz... hiaz... a night without blanket is cold!! We woke up in
the morning and we went exploring the city!! One side of the lake is switzerland
and the other side is simpy the french!

This is like one of the parks that is on the coast of the lake!! yeah!! there
is a lake in geneve!! I just happened to think that it is a sea!! damm it!!
haha!! damm malu sia!! but then it is a bright beautiful day.. so basically
we went around!! enjoying the warmth!! I even got to take out my jacket
lar!! it was bloody hot with that on me lehz!! haha!! but down here.. you get
to see all the embassies!! all those 3rd world contries embassies have like
a palace looking embassies man!! some even look like castles.. only singapore..
don't have a embassy... only got a small counter in the airport!! wah lau...
so much for having a embassy in a city where united nations is located

Jet d'eau... HAHA!! I was trying my very very best to ask hwee keng
where the Jet d'eau was.... then she was puzzled all the way!!haha!!
Because I was pronouncing it as jet d you... haha!! it is actually pronounced
as jet dough.... haha!! I think I suck at french pronounciation... ok... I am
not very good with other language pronounciation as well... hiaz.. I am a sad
case.. a hokkien that have a weird accent when speaking hokkien... sianz...

We have been craving for a chinese meal for almost 2 weeks liaoz! so basically
when we happened to see a chinese restaurant when we were walking down the
streets in geneve.. we just can 't help but stare at it for a super long time before
deciding that we should have a chinese lunch!! haha!! I had what they call.. fried
rice yangzhou style!! =) haha!! Eh.. I saw fried rice singapore style also lar!!
HAHA!! that is something you dont get to see it in singapore!

Bern!! It simply means bear in switz! Well, there is a story which I cannot remember
about how bern got his name of bern! I think I just simply could not be bothered.. haha
anyway.. our hostel was just right next to the river!! sapphire blue water.. ok.. mixed
with a little emarald green water... so it becomes SAPMERALD water!!

We were walking around looking for food to eat when we happened to pass by
this window! We thought that the einstein bear looks kinda ordinary but the
pricing of it is freaking extraordinary! but then we looked at the poster and
started laughing!! IT goes: "Don't worry about your mathematical problems,
I can assure you that mine is still greater!" HAHA!!

As We were going around comparing the price of food and looking for dinner, we
passed by this shop lar!! We have been looking for an hour liaoz and this shop
happened to just appear in front of us!! It was a bloody torture!! We can see the
food but cann not eat them!! There were long barbeque ribs! and big chunks of
meat displayed in the shop as well!! and you might ask why we don't eat in there!!
We simply wanted a place to sit down and eat and they do not have! And we only
have enough budget for 1 meal man!

We went all the way to the hostel after dinner.. feeling the effects of the filling
dinner, we lied on our beds and make ourselves comfortable.. Then we remembered
that we were planning to make a trip to the federal platz to see the fountain!!
We gotta drag ourselves out of the bed.. The rain like helps to make our mood happier
sia... the cold, fatigue and every thing together.. haha!! anyway.. when we reached there..
I thought we would see a really really beautiful fountain packed with a lot of water jets
flying here and there!!! but what we saw was a water fountain almost equivalent to the
water fountain in front of the marine parade building! ok lar.. the lights shining on it made
it a little nicer

You get to see a lot of cool convertibles and sports car lying around in the streets
in switzerland! Ferarri, lamborghini, volkswaagen and many many cool looking cars!
I happened to see this black lamborghini on the streets! It is like how cool lar!
Hmmm.. Can I please try out the car!?!?!?! haha!!!!

You get to see a lot of these structures in the middle of the road right out on the
streets!!! Most of them have a story behind them but I am not so power until
I am able to know every single one of it lar! But then all thanks to these statues,
I did not get lost during the 1st day when we were walking to the hostel!! HAHA!!
Or else it will be a fondue chinose treat already!!These structures are mainly
fountains for the horses to drink water!

The bear!! The national animal for switzerland! As the name of the city show..
Bern= bear in switz.. I was always thinking that the national animal for switzerlad
is actually one of those big dog which acted in the dog movie: beethoven, with a
barrel tied to their neck and they will have the ever sleepy look on their face..
Apparently I was wrong! This bear is like confined to the bear pit.. which is something
like a hole in the ground out in the public.. So it is more or less like a public zoo! OK
lar.. the bear also have like sleepy features on his face as well!!

HAHAA!! left 1 more entry for my eurotrip!! that will be left with just germany!

Aiyar.. super sad that they lost lar... because we had a forfeit for the person that

supported the losing team when I was in the PA camp... I just simply chosen the

losing team lar!!!In the end! I gotta jump the pool man!! That was teh forfeit!!

haha!!! After my europe tip it will be the USA trip liaoz!! I just hope that I could

get this bloody blog to publish up!! yesterday I completed the blog liaoz.. but then

don't know for whatever reason!!! The blog just simply does not post up.. there is

no back up post as well!!! ARRGGGHHH... So in the end I got to re write the entire

HUNGARY HUNGARY!! ARE YOU HUNGRY!?!?

Hey guys!! sorry for not updating the blog for a long long time

liaoz!! I just came back from USA on saturday morning then

went to my niece 1st birthday party!! ( MAN!! am I old liaoz

or what!! she is like 20 years younger than me lar!!) With the

effects of jet lagging!! I was quite blur throughout the day..

It was followed by engine camp on monday at NUS!! Which was

simply great man!! I was so busy that I didn't realise that I had

to get a Secret Pal present for the camp!! HOLY SHIT!! HOW!?!

It all came down to the giving her a ferraro rocher and a letter

crane origami in the end!! But the camp forced me out of my

jet lag man!! It was shag but fun!!

Anyway....I am gonna continue with the next part of the europe

trip!! You guessed it!! Its hungary!! Though we have only been

to budapest.. but then we had seen seriously a lot lar!!!

This is like the escalator to the MRT system!! It is bloody long,
the going up part was still ok.. it is the going down part that is
scary!! cos you can simply keep rolling down if you just lose your
balance!! Although it is not clear... can you see how tightly we
are holding on to the railings?!?!

Hehe!! a picture of our hostel!! This picture is taken when
we came back and are preparing to go and take a shower and
sleep liaoz.... It was actually pretty spacious but kinda got
lotsa people staying here as well... so well... 1 toilet.. shared by
about 10 people!! Talk about if you have an urgent nature call
an the toilet is spoiled....HAHA!! The thing I like most about this
place is the FREEEEE INTERNET!!! Haha..I was kinda craving
for it liaoz!!

Boy was it starting to rain man!! It was cold!! We were
wet..and cold.... but we still felt adventurous enough to
climb over the railings to take a picture of the man made
fountain behind us!! Mind you... the fence are super sharp
lar!! 1 wrong step and it is bye bye yongji!! Anyway.. this
is taken at the base of St Gilan's ( hope i spelt correctly)

To climb up the hill.... We were just smart enough to take all
the shortcuts!! Which is to choose a straight line to the top and
cut through all the way!! but of course!! I comes at a price lar!!
When we climbed all the way to the top!! We were like totally
outta breathe liaoz!! Damm shag lar!! Slippery ground plus
no food plus cold..... take a look at how tiankai is climbing lar!!
Don't be fooled by the picture!! the gradient is super steep....

ANNNNDDD!! At the very top! We can finally get to see the
statue!! imagine climbing up a super steep slope and everything
to just take a look at this statue!! Of course there is the super
nice view of the entire city from here!! And there is a lot of people
around as well!! It is like one of those tour buses spots!! The
going down part we all hum.. and took the normal longer way
down to the base =) Nobody was crazy enough lar... HAHA!!

It might not look much in the day... But when nightfalls comes
along, they light up the entire city and the St Gilan's structure..
Until now, I still have no idea wat is the statue erected for!!HAHA!!

This is on Castle hill!! It is like basically a castle built on the hill!!
Just to enhance defense and have a big advantage towards attack!
We just happen to wonder how the plants survive in such a cold
weather!!! It is like seriously cold lar!! you just gotta try out man..
We really didn't want to come out of the shelter later on!!

This is just another night view of the city!! I think it is quite nice
lar!! Well, at least it is a change from the super congested buildings
view in Singapore!!

Just take a look at the queue man!! That is the queue to go and
purchase the tickets to take the guided tour into the parliment
house!! We waited a full hour just to get into the ticket booth lor
Super long sia!!

these are the items they displayed to us!! a sword, a crown, a sceptor
and a gold ball!! They are asking people not to use their flashlight
because they do not want the fading of the goldish color!!! But I heard
that these are actually worn by real monarch's before!! But the crown
seriously looks uncomfortable!!

This is like the hero's square... apparently, I is situated in the
middle of the road!! We were like walking round and round it
just to look for a zebra crossing just to cross it!!! cos it is like in
the middle of the most busy roundabout in the whole world..
I just discovered that for austria and hungary, it seems that
they will have some sorta hero's square or something like that!
Anyway... I couldn't fit the whole thing into my camera... so
just make do with what you have lar arh!?!?

Turkish baths!!! It just look like a swimming pool... A seriously
nice swimming pool lar!! with fountains shooting here and there!!
they even build a concrete table in the middle of the pool just to
let people play chess over there!! It is a pretty cool sight... and the
water in the pool is actually 100% hot spring's water!! So it is like
a super duper cool Hot springs!!

When were were suppose to be going to the vineyard,
WE GOT LOST!!! well... apparently, the roads and the
map didnt exactly match each other!! so basically there
are some streets magically disappearing and appearing
somewhere else!! Anyway.. thought I just take a picture
of their flower and fruits market while we are here!!

We went for wine tasting in EGER!!! There is like a row of
shophouses outside!! all of them leading inwards... they
are not very big and spectacular... but den... there are a
lot of tourist that visits over there!! The wine are not bad..
but just doesnt suit my liking..

Well, the process is actually you pay something like 1 singapore
dollars for 1 cup of wine... you get to try it out lar!! different
cellars have different range of wines!! I actually kinda liked
my Pinot Noir!! Imagine spending your whole day lor!!Don't worry,
they have table and chairs for you to sit!!

These are out drinks!! I think it is a little bit to little.... a few
sips and there it is!!! But then.. I sorta start to feel a little dizzy
after my 3rd glass of wine!! Some are seriously sweet.. others!!
man.. I can only say that my preference was not there!! But if
you happen to be talking to your friends, the wine might just
be finished quite quickly!! Tiankai and xiaoyang bought some
back later on!!

This is simply a painted ceiling in a church in Eger...Looks nice
right!?!? I think the priest might have thought that I was a
little looney!!people come in and take a pic of the surroundings..
The 1st thing after I came in was to take the picture of the ceilings!!
What can I say... I am interested!

This building is actually a library with a astronomical telescope
at the top floors!! At the 1st look of it.. We were actually wondering
if the tower was tall enuf to c the skY!!

On the Way back on the train... Everyone was more or less
shagged out from the trip.. so they were sleeping liaoz..but
then there was sudddenly a clearing in the clouded sky!!
What do you think it looks like man!?!?

Its like when we were taking the trains, we can always see fields
of yellow flowers lar!!! It is super long patches of flower fields..This
flower field is actually along the train route from budapest to Eger!

Haha!! Somethings I realised in Budapest!!

1) You can become super rich even you are super poor!! just dun calculate the currency conversion

2)Things are pretty much cheaper than other places!! ( we set budapest as the area to save as much as possible on our budget

3) No matter what the book say about buying mineral water and don't drink their tap water..It is not true lor!! The waiters in the restaurant are happily serving us all the tap water he could find lar!

4) They are super proud to have their own version of their writing! It does not contain english, french or russian letters!

5) When in doubt of what to eat, MCDONALD'S is always the answer!! ahahaha

SALZBURG!! BEEN THERE.. DONE THAT THE LAST PART OF THE TRIP!

Well.. I thought I begin from the back 1st!! haha!!

sounds kinda weird huh!?!?!?I thought by doing so..

the 1st part will be at the top of the blog!! I think I will start

with salzburg 1st!! Salzburg....A place famous only

for mozart, mozart chocolates and sound of music!!

haha!! Plus!! for the salzburger nockerl!! Sluurrrppp!!!

*drool.....I think it is one of the more interesting

places in the entire trip!! we were down to our last

few days in europe already.. and we found out that

we have actually saved quite a lot!! we actually

calculated to spend 1500 euros in 1 month!! that is

equivalent of 3000 singapore dollars for an entire

month!!but in the end... I found out I had 600 euros

left!!man.. we really did save a lot during this trip...

haha!! all the walking to compare the prices of

restaurant was worth it!!

Well, lets get down to the trip al right?!?!

On our way to Salzberg, we gotta pass by vienna!! Just to
get our connecting trains.. So we thought... why don't we have
lunch at the ribs restaurant with the very very nice beer!!
haha!! so basically.. we went to Sibensturn haus!!

It is actually a combination of a brewery and a restaurant!! Look!!
They have a brewer just right at the front of the bar counter!!
You can even see them brew the beer during lunchtime!! Their beer..
AAAHHHHHHHHHH!!! hits the spot!! haha!! plus they sell reasonably
good food!! It is usually very very crowded over there during dinner
time!! and it is really really difficult to find a seat there!! cos they do not
take reservations... it just makes things tougher...

They have a cupboard right at the entrance!! displaying
the size of the beer bottles that they sell!! with beer in
them of course!!I was actually planning to buy one of those
big cans of beer back.. but then they look seriously suspicious
to the customs... so I changed my mind in the end.. haha!!
In the end..I only bought a 0.5 litre bottle of beer back..
and they charge the bottle too!!I am gonna keep the bottle..

Basically this is what our hostel look like.. might not look like
much... but then it is still very very comfortable!! My bed in
this room is the top left bed!! haha!! neat right!!??!?haha!!
ok.. maybe not as neat huh... sighz.. I am not a very organised
person am I...

HAHA!! My digital camera was running out of memory liaoz..
so basically I asked Tiankai for help.. to help me finish my
memory.. so that I can change the memory card!! apparently,
I think I put across my thought in a wrong way.. cos in the
end.. tiankai seriously help me finish my memory card..by
pressing the shoot button continuously!!

When we were in Europe.. There was no internet in most of the
accommodations... so when we find one that has, we would all rush
to the computer to use their internet!! to check mail or to chat!!
Makes no difference after all!! haha... See!!! they look so happy
and focused on the computer screen!! while I stood there to take
a picture as a proof!!

This is my fruitless attempt to photograph a sunset...haha..
I thought that I would be able to take a very nice picture of
a sunset in europe... apparently that is not the case...because
there is always the clouds to block away the view of the sun
setting behind the mountains..

Now.. this is the abbey in the sound of music.. at 1st look...
I just simply cannot recognise the abbey!!! I mean it just
does not stir a memory!! but then my friends kept on
insisting that it is!! ( OK... my friend... tiankai did not
watch the sound of music..)

Alright dudes!!! This is the mirabell garten!! One of the
scenes from The Sound of Music!! haha!! Salzburg is basically
famous for mozart and the sound of music! without these 2..
salzburg will basically become a boring town where nobody
wanna come and tour... I still cannot remember where did
this garden appear in the movie... hiaz... looks like I gotta go
and watch the sound of music again!! ( which I seriously do not
mind!! haha!! anyone care to join me!?!?)

Apparently... we came at quite a nice time!! virtually all the flowers
have bloomed!! and they are looking great!! see!! haha... but no
roses yet!! Tiankai wanted to see roses since we arrived in europe..
but until now... he is still unable to see the rose bushes!! HAHA!! we
later found out that it is not the right season!! man.. was he pissed!!

Take a look!! mirabell garden looked really really good that
day!! I wonder how does it look like now! perhaps there are
more flowers!! perhaps it is more beautiful!!!

on my left!! I just wanted to take a picture with the grass and
flowers!! ( haha.. sounds gay...) there is even 4 statues around
to signify 4 elements!!

Do you remember this place in salzburg!??! It is a scene
from the sound of music!! where rolfe and liesl sang going
on 16!!! haha!! with all the running about in the pavillion
while it was raining heavily outside!!three were a lot of
people around trying to take a picture with the pavillion..
so me and Xiaoyang decided to go and take a Pic also!!

Well, after all the fun and laughter we had in Salzburg,
it was time to go back to munich!! for our last night of the
entire europe trip!! We rushed all the way to the train
station... With all the load that we were carrying..
it was no wonder that we became very very tired very
easily!! haha!! look at our load!! Our stuff occupied 2
full benches!! haha!! We managed to get to the train station
with lotsa time to spare.. so we sat down to have our kebak
lunch!!I think Tiankai is preparing to devour his food!! haha!!

HAHA!! What luck!! the train from salzburg to Munich
was a direct train with no stops!! In addition, Munich is the
terminal station!! haha!! so that means that we can sleep all
the way there without worrying that we miss the station!!
Well, the rest of the gang were tired so they slept..what did
I do!?!?! I took out my little soft toy dog and let him post with
Xiaoyang!! haha!! It is not safe to sleep on this trip man!! haha!
You will get lotsa shots while you are sleeping!! Think of it as a
practical joke!!

out of the window!! It has really seen most of europe!! or rather..
4 countries in europe!! now.. ain't that great?!?! you can see the
world thru the dogs eyes!!

The last dinner in munich or rather the last dinner of the
entire europe trip!Of couse we must have some really really
good food!! so we decided to have roasted ribs!! but the sad
thing is that.. it is way too cold!! plus there is another function
going on in there!! so basically... we thought.. we end with
what we started out with!! so we went back to Augustina!!
Since it was the last night.. I thought.. what the heck!! Just
order one litre of dunkles ( the stronger beer) just for the
kick of it!! and to try it out!! haha... I realised that my alcholic
endurance has gone up!! I don't even feel dizzy after the 1
litre!! Tiankai took up the challenge and ordered 1 litre Helles!!
( the light beer) while Xiaoyang.. being the extra safe person..
careful not to get drunk..( even on the last night man!! and there
was someone to send us back!!) he ordered.. 0.5 weissbeer ( the
kind that german drink like water...)

Look at the size of our mugs!!Tiankai is flushed from his drink!!
I can still go for another!! haha!! While Xiaoyang....Sighz...haha!!
Look at how high we were!! Hic* BUURRRRRPPPPPPP!!!
hahaha!! foods good!! drinks good!! atmosphere good!! there is
simply nothing to complain about!!

I was the 1st to wake up!! so bascially.. I took this photo before
they wake up!! just as a momento!! haha!! Xiaoyang is totally
wrapped up in the sleeping bag!! looks like they are still in the
effects from yesterday's beer!! haha!!

Finally!! I perfected the skill of pouring the entire 0.5 Litres
of beer in to the weiss beer glass!! hey... that takes skill alright!!
I didn't manage to empty the entire contents into the glass on my
1st try!! haha!! I learnt a new skill over there!!

Just right before we leave the apartment for the airport!!
Just look at our load!! Especially tiankai!! haha!! he was bloody
worried that his backpack will overload by a lot!!!But then it
was a fruitful trip!! haha

Tiankai was like securing his beer bottles with string!! so that
the beer bottle caps will not pop in the high alttitude!! haha!!
It took him something like 30min to get it done!

FOOD FOR THOUGHT!!
FROM EUROPE!

Well, I just came back from europe yesterday and

have been uploading the pictures into my computer!!

Well, the trip was pretty interesting!!! There is climbing

of mountains, chasing of trains, looking for missing

objects ( I lost my keys only to find out that I actually

left it in the hotel!!), looking for food ( and that takes like

half an hour of walking aroung to look for it!!just to compare

the prices), waiting for flights ( bloody hell!! all my flights

were super delayed!! they arrive at the airport at the time

my plane was suppose to depart!!), Carrying of things

( dragging many big bags of souvenirs all over europe

seriously train your muscles and stamina), trying out all

the nice european food!!( I think I gained weight and became

fat! time to lose weight), spent quite some money ( no money

liaoz... time to save again), drink coffee ( didnt enjoy it as

much since I am more of a tea person, but I still managed

to get some really good tea!!)...etc etc... I don;t have the full

collection of photos 1st so this will be the 1st part of the blog...

and it will be bout FOOD GLORIOUS FOOD...haha!!Since

I have been taking all the pictures of the food that we at

there!!I will post it up 1st!!! And here they are!

Germany being the beer country... How could I
go there without drinking their beer!!! It is really good!! high
quality beer!! cannot compare with those in singapore!! I was
so good that me and tiankai decided to order 1 litre each!!!on
our last night in europe!! and we brought back some to share!!

Kinda ran out of money on that day in salzburg... so I had to
pick the cheapest food on the menu.. which is this 2 little thin
strips of sausages!!! with lots of potatoes and vegetables!!

We were invited to a easter sunday brunch!!! ohhh...
the food was superb.. all the liver spreads and salamis!!
the roasted meat and wine and champagne...just look
at their happy faces!! :)

Salzburger Nockerl!! this desert is made of egg white!! really really
good sia!!! We went around looking for this dessert for a very very
long time!!!

SchweinBraden!!( meaning roast pork!!) wah!! it is delicious!! plus
the gravy...SLURP!!!!Mwah!!!

I ate this roast chicken on the last night!! I am still wondering how
did I even managed to finish the entire half chicken... plus bread
somemore!!

The really really traditional dish!! PORK KNUCKLES!! or rather
singular....knuckle... hahah!! it is deep fried until it is crispy outside
and soft and tender inside^^ sounds like I am describing KFC huh?!?

This is like the most expensive meal we had in budapest!!
They even had a live musical group playing classical music
while we eat sia!! haha...

The last dinner in Budapest!! The portion is really really big!!
Had a tough time trying to finish every single thing!! The really
big plate of chicken n fries on the right is mine!! now you can
imagine how hard it is to try to finish this after have a bowl of
hungarian soup!! The good thing is that it is reasonably priced!

Our first dinner in luzern... the mash potatoes are really good!
plus the red wine...aahhhhhh.....haha!!the one in front is actually
beef sausage rolled in beef! Xiaoyang is having the macoroni
pasta which he said was quite nice! the only thing bout switzerland
that is bad is the price... the meal was freaking expensive!! but that
is switzerland!

After missing out on noodles for a very very long time!! I finally
found this plate of pasta and pork stew in jungfrau!! I was ok
tasting...but then... after you have missed out on noodles for a
long time... everything that is noodle will taste nice!!

I forgot the name of this dessert..but then it is really really
nice!! the blue flame on it is actually lighted rum!! and it
blends really well with the chocolate!!

Dinner in Innsbruck... my spaghetti carbonara looks really really
dry and it is... haha!! I was looking at the big pieces of breaded
pork that tiankai and xiaoyang was having throughout the whole
dinner!!!haha!!

I forgotten what this dish was... but I remembered that it tasted
like lasagna!! haha!! and this was suppose to be a greek restaurant
haha!! kinda strange huh!?!?

We decided not to follow the guide book that night and just
look for a restaurant!!and we managed to find one which sells
mexican food!! haha.... having mexican food in germany!!

Goulash soup( beef stew) a much try!!! really good!!

the gaining of weight over there!!)

Cheese Fondue!! My 1st Cheese fondue in my life!! didn't
dare to try it out the last time..but... the cheese fondue
was still quite nice! Especially the crust after you finish
all the cheese!!! SHIOK!!

Dessert at Central Cafe!! the sacher torte wasn't as
good as expected, but it was still quite nice!

Wah!! our dinner in Budapest!! taste quite nice!!

back to preparing for my next trip to USA liaoz!!

GREETINGS FROM EUROPE!!

Hiya!!! Finally!!! an internet!!! sorry guys.... long time

no update liaoz.... hiaz... I finally found an internet

connection and still have some money left from my

daily budget..so here i am!!!! online!!!! haha... it has

been fun!!!! the weather is really really good!!! its like

20-23 degree celcius in the day and 18-20 in the night!!!

haha...like in an air-con room like that!!! Did I say the

foood is absolutely fabulous!?!?!? Because it really is!!!

~drool~~~~ haha!!! and dinner everynight is in a

restaurant!!!! well... almost every night lar.... budget..

no pics this time round... sorry.... but then i will try to

post all of them when i get back to singapore!!!

for all the guys... have lotsa fun before going into uni!!

for all the girls.... good luck for all your exams!!! aiyar....

3 min left on the internet liaoz... gotta go... it is really

expensive to use internet here.... 2 euros for 40 mins....

PA CAMP 2006

I went back for the PA camp this year! wah lau, I went back,

I realised how old I was lor.. all the 1st years had to call me

great great grandsenior (-_-") sound so old lor.... Anyway,

this is the 1st PA camp i went back for since I have graduated!!

Looking at them take all the test, mug for all the test, make all

the mistakes... It just brings back memories... all the mistakes,

fun and laughter that I have made at that time... looking at the

year 2 this year, it reminded me of all the sleepless night we

had when it was our turn to organise the camp when i was in

year 2... lolz... even on the last day for our batch, all the seniors

gathered and sleep in east coast park!!! lol..it is funny lar...

Anyway, I went back to PA room!! and then I saw all the

equipment that I once worked with..

the mixer!!! I realised that they added more equipment... became

too chim... ( i realised that the room was a lot cleaner and neater

compared to that time when i was still working in PA!! makes me

realise how work conscious we are!! so focus on the work that we

do not have the time to clean up the place!!! hehe)

These are the cupboards beside the mixer!! on it are

the chronicles of the past PA crewies!!!lol.. we would

be damm sianz during events... so in the end, we would

either play worms 2 on the laptop or.. take the cloth

tape and start pasting it on the cupboard!!! ( see the

bottom of the left most cupboard!!??! that was left

by me!!! lol my name and the picture of the supposed

bird...quoting one of the great great grandjunior

" what is that ugly dinosaur on the cupboard.. so

disproportional..." (-_-") wah lau.... I spent 2 recess

trying to make it 1 lor....lolz... but yar.. i think it is not

really perfect 2!!)

this is the cupboard on the other side where we kept all the

mic stands and supposed mics!!! ( trust me.. you won't even

believe what I have seen on the mic... it is disgusting.. I shall

leave it to your imagination...) they have damm cool new mics

now already!! the sony 1... damm.. how come we don't get the

new mics during our years...As you can see... all the pastings

on the cupboard are basically names... last time this cupboard

didn't even have any pastings on them..

Well back to the camp.... the 1st day, they were basically doing

all the training and some were even taking theory test... but then

at night... there was STJ!!! senior treat junior... it was scary sia....

since i was the oldest crewies around, everyone was asking me to

treat lar.... well I told them that today was STJ!! senior treat

junior!! not grandsenior or great grandsenior tteat junior!!!lolz...

they were quite persistent... but i stood my ground =)

( dammit.. i have to go for more civillian conversion course..)

I mean when they changed to casual dressing:) there's me,

hanyao, kennet, yongsheng, tzekoi ( from left to right)

we were all changed and ready to go!! to marina south to

eat!!!

virtually all the people in the pic are year 3 , except yongsheng

lar.. look at how happy we all are!! the food is not bad.. I had my

fun trying to dissect the crab and de shell the prawns.... i think

I maimed the crab and decapitated the prawns more.... the end

state was not pretty at all...in the end... I have no idea where did

all the crab go to.... apparently, our table was the only 1 that went

to cut the crab but then, apparently all the tables were eating

crabs that were perfectly prepared... lol but the most important

thing was that everyone was happy at the end!!! it has been a long

long time since i last had marina south zhen1 fa1 huo2 hai3 xian1...

thats linus in the red shirt!! one of the year 1 that i came to

know of in this camp!! wah lau.. he is an interesting fella!! he

was telling me more army stories that i know of!!! and the best

thing is i am getting out of army liaoz when he is not even

enlisted yet!!! I can see him having the crazy mind to sign on liaoz..

but then, he is one person that you will not feel bored talking to!!!

he just does not run out of topics!!

lol... this picture I just jumped in from behind and then stun

them!! but then they were nice enough to accommodate me

..lolz...thx girls!!

YO!! MR YEO!! haha.. this is the PA teacher lar!!! He used to

stay in school until very very late!!! for what i have no bloody

idea... but then luckily he was around, I usually approach him

when I have chemistry queries in the middle of the night in

school!! hehe... plus he is always nice enough to treat me to food!!

haha.. what can i say... he is a good source of sustainance!!

for the 2nd day, there was test, test and more test!!! all the

practical test!!! sometimes, it gets kinda demoralising in the

camp cos you see everyone else playing games, running around,

shouting...playing laughing.. while you are in the class room taking

the test... I know... I have been there before!!! Well, since they

were takig the test, what can I do?!!?!? I took out my hammock,

setup and then start sleeping!!!

lol... amazed at how the thin looking material can support my

weight!?!?! but then it is really shiok!!! cool breeze from the

neighbouring sea!!! undershade..... man!! plus i was a little

tired... I could sleep on the spot lar!!!

Royston was there as well.. so he tried it out!!! looks like he

is getting the scar of his life ( mouth and eyes open so wide!!)

Luckily he is going into naval diving unit!!! so he don't need

to sleep in a hammock when he goes outfield!!!

In the night, all the juniors played the RPG game !!! and all the

seniors came in and join lar!! it was kinda funny... how I wanted

to sabotage the other group but in the end sabotaged myself...

There was one station where u gotta dig for the clue in a pail of

disgusting substance... the thing is.. you yourself prepare the

disgusting substance.. and they tell you that it is for the other

group!!! was lau.. I poured in curry, flour.. chilli sauce... oil...

maggue seasoning.. curry powder... soap... damm it.. the end state

looks bloody disgusting lar!! but then it was really funny during the

mixing part!!!!

They have a new system this year!!! the groups actually

meet to play intergroup games!!! and this happens to be

one of the stations!!! it is 中技密码!!! and the stuff they have

to eat... eeewwwwww..... have you tried curry banana!as in

mutton curry with banana...left there for dunno how long

liaoz... hope they don't get food poisoning the next day lar!!

when they were looking out for the clues in the treasure

hunt, we grads came together to take a pic!!! ( this is the

parade square if you have not realised)

Hiaz... all of them say they wanna come back again next year...

Looks like I cannot join them liaoz.. I will be goin overseas to

study liaoz... but hey!!! I do hope they will have more

crewies next year!!! apparently the number seems to be

decreasing!!! if this goes on...PA may be taken over by another

CCA group or even mend by technicians!!

THE PARTING OF THE WAYS....
FOR THE NEXT FOUR YEARS ANYWAY..

Hiaz.. Looks like a lot of my friends will be going overseas to

pursue their further studies.. I suppose I will still be able to

see those who went to either USA or UK to study again quite

soon.. either in america =) or in Singapore during the summer

break!! But for those that went to australia for their further

studies, I don't think I will be seeing them anytime soon...

say.... for the next 4 years!?!?! because our summer break

lands on different timings!! which means that we will not

be in Singapore at the same time!! Well!! I suppose when

we go over there, we will experience a whole new definition

to life!!! either cos we will be mugging our ass off like there is

no tomorrow.. or... we will be drinking, partying, making lotsa

merry whole day long!!!! HAHA!!!

I went to send some of my friends off at terminal 1 on the

15 February !!! ( that means this post is way late!! sorry lar..

couldn't get my mind to it..) It feels kinda sad to know that

I won't be seeing them anymore for the next 4 years... but

I feel happy that they will be coming back with better prospects!

1 will be a doctor while the other will be a dentist!! I went together

with kangxun that day to see them off at terminal 1!!

This is my junior!! ALIYA!!! haha!! she is one hell of a nice person

who simply adore horses!!! she is taking dentistry!! wow!! (hmm..

Aliya!! see!! i say all the good stuff bout you.... now you just gotta

give me free consultation when you come out to become a dentist!!

Muahahahah!!!)

Thats me kangxun and aliya!! well although we have to wake up

really early in the morning!! but then it is well worth it!! since I

will not be seeing her for the next 4 years liaoz.... When I got there

.. Her entire family came to see her off... too bad that it was on a

weekday.. so everybody has to go to school.. so cannot come down

to send her..

Well..this is kerf!! he is one of my best friend in VJC!! He is like

damm smart lar... plus he is very easy to get along with!! he will

be going to monash university to study medcine for bout 5 years..

this is one hell of a great guy!! always there to help me in IT stuff..

sadz that he is going over to australia liaoz... cos usually he would

introduce me to great computer programmes!!

There were lotsa people who came to send him off lar!! and out of

those people, these are the only PA crew who turned up to send him

off....( wow... it has been a very very long time since i last saw shihui!!)

From what I discovered later... apparently, a lot of people were leaving

for studies in australia as well!! I thought I saw my distant cousin there..

Well, at least kerf managed to ord early and go for studies!! hiaz... I still

gotta wait till Aug.. in the meantime.. I shall play 1st!!!

Haha!! Hope to see you guys back in singapore soon!! although there isn't

ONE WORD FOR WISDOM TOOTH
EXTRACTION "OUCH!!!"

Well, if you belong to the category of faint hearted, weak heart,

scared of blood.... a word of advice, don't look at this particular

blog..... because this blog will have scenes that contain blood and

some quite disgusting scenes...

So if you please, let me carry on with my story on how i managed

to survive through my ordeal of extracting my wisdom tooth....or

rather teeth!! since i have freaking 4 wisdom tooth to extract!!!

Yes!!!! 4 of them... I always thought that I will have on 2... Cos

my dentist told me that I have only 2 when I was something like 15!!

Man!!!!... you cannot imagine the shock when I heard the news!!!

From just extracting only 2.. You go up to 4.. not to mention that

one tooth cost something like 500 SINGAPORE DOLLARS

to extract!!!!! But what can I do... the teeth are starting to give me

problems when I eat..... So well... I began the journey of extracting

my teeth....... Everyone was like telling me no worries!!!! no pain 1 !!

well, that really helps!! until the night before, Jeffery came to tell me....

Enjoy the pain of your life man!!!! Cos it will be torturing.....HAHA...

Well, I went to Mount Elizabeth the next day to extract one side of the

tooth 1st !!!! man... that 1 extraction caused me not being able to eat

solid food for about a week lor!!!! damm.... I crave for noodles den sia

... and all I can get was porridge and more porridge.....it is not those nice

little porridges that you have that have meat and vege and many many

tasty little ingredients... NO SIRREEE!!! IT IS THE BLOODY PLAIN

PORRIDGE THAT YOU GET WHEN YOU ARE SICK!!!!man!!

I think I got porridge phobia liaoz.... And thx to Weihong, Jeff,

and tiankai..... they came my house to visit me.... and have dinner..

and well.... i had the same old porridge while THEY HAD PIZZA!!

damm... you know how much was the torture.... dammit..... they

still offered me the pizza... saying they cannot finish...saying

they can blend the pizza to help me..... dammit!!! Oh well... 1week

of fasting has gone by while another week is still waiting for me...

I have just taken out my other 2 wisdom tooth today!! hiaz...

Why is it more painful this time... cannot sleep, cos of the pain...

and plus my tongue is still numb at the time of typing this blog..

think it will last all the way till night time... I gotta wait for the

numbness to wear off before I can even drink.. sadz....2 weeks

worth of suffering.....

Well... this is the wisdom teeth liaoz.... All 4 of them!!!

the packet at the top belongs to my left side of the mouth

while the bottom 1 belongs to the right side of the mouth..

I think the 1 in pieces are all my bottom wisdom teeth...

Well, finally I do not need to worry about the wisdom tooth

liaoz!!! I am now craving for chicken rice, lor mee... beef

noodles, laksa, nasi lemak, and many many more things!!!

FOOD FOOD.... GLORIOUS FOOD!!!!!!! hmm... think

I will have trouble sleeping tonight... hiaz...

CHINESE NEW YEAR!!!!
( sorry for the late post)

Wow!! how time flies!!! It is chinese new year liaoz...

Looking back... It seems that not much time has passed

since the last chinese new year!!! Man!!!! And i thought

time passes so slowly in the army.... forever complaining

about the endless sia kang and the short moments spent

outside over the weekends... looks like it is that time of the year

again!!! it is that important time of the year where will

will have a big income that will be coming in!!!! YES!!!

if you haven't got it... it is ang baos!!!! I know that the

red packets are given to you as a sort of blessing.. wishing

you the very best for the year ahead and all the cliche like

these and blah blah blah...... The only difference about that

income for this year!?!?!?!? IT IS GONNA BE MY LAST

TIME IN 4 YEARS TIME!!!! all because i will be leaving to

study in USA in august... and it happens that the holidays do

not coincide with the chinese new year period..... sadz.....

not like those who goes to australia to study and stuff like

this... they have the chance to come back every year to

eat their reunion dinner....... for me!!!! i think i will be going

around Bai4 Nian2 with normal oranges instead of the

mandarine oranges...... and the reunion dinner maybe together

with a few chinese friends taking away big boxes if popeye's

fried chicken n big gigantic bottles of coke.... kinda sadz huh...

like every year.... we would go aroung visiting... greeting each

other with happy new year!!!! gong xi fa cai!!!! ( damm.....

apparently everybody has no creativity at all lor.... all the

same words... though it is a traditional thing... but.... you kinda

get a little sianz after saying the same things over and over again

for the last 20 years.....) It is the same routine..... eating all the

chinese new year cookies...( some very sweet... some have a

weird taste and the rest are kinda ok... with some exceptions of

a few good ones...)

talking about what i have been doing over the last few years....

what are my future plans and reminiscing the past.. when i was

still immature and ignorant of everything.... ( basically... the

questions never change... it is always the same few questions

and we happen to renew their memories each year...)

getting the ang baos =) ( although this is my 2nd favourite part

of CNY.... but then this year seems to be very different.... the

exhilaerating feeling is just not there... I mean... IT IS MONEY!!!

FOR GOODNESS SAKE!!!....) think it is juz not as many people

as last year.....

we had lotsa fun last year..... so of course we could do better

this year man!!!! after all... it is like the last reunion lunch

together for a long long long time.....

although there werent as many people as last year... we still

managed to lao yu sheng!!! they give you super long chopsticks...

bout 3/4 the length of your arm... just to let you reach the plate

so that you can lao.....these chopsticks are seriously tiring to use

man..... but hey... this is like once a year thing..... so it is actually

worth it...... looking at this picture... it made me remember the

1st 3 months i had in VJC.... and how the whole class lao the yu

sheng together with the seniors!!!

I met a new cousin during the chinese new year this year....

guess which one is it!?!?!??!

it is the lady on the most right!!!! the baby wearing pink woth

a blur look on the face... ( actually both babies are sorta wearing

the same blur look but i am talking bout the baby on the right

of the picture)... amazing rite?!?!!? the other baby is actually

my niece!!! and there is only a few months difference in their age!!!

hell!!! i dun noe whether the baby on the left will call the baby on

the right auntie or by her name!!!!! If she calls her by the name..

den it will be mai2 da4 mei2 xiao3... if call her auntie.... it will also

feel very weird...

Chinese new year has passed by liaoz... and i still have not find the

motivation to go and count the total income for this chinese new

year..... think i better go and start counting liaoz..... Hope i will

still get it next year!!!

MAN!! LOOK AT HOW MUCH I
HAVE CHANGED OVER THE
YEARS!!

I was like so bored just sitting at home on a saturday.....

cos i have just finished all my naruto series and since i

have nothing to watch liaoz and i dun feel like playing

conquer online.... so i started to pack up my cupboard

that was untouched for eons!!!! When i opened up my

cupboard, i found my album of baby pics and some other

old pics!!! I was amazed at how much I have changed over

the years!!! I went from skinny and small to the extreme!!!

I grew to become a fat pig!!!! den i started to lose weight

gradually!!!

Let me begin the story then!!!

Well when i was born on the 21st September 1985!!!!

when i was born, i looked something like this!!!

For those that know me, i know that you must be either

laughing or wondering who is that little baby in the picture..

but trust me... that is me in the picture!!!! the blur looking

person who has just been introduced to the world!!!!

the hairstyle might be intepreted being awoken from my

slumber not too long ago... but i still look like a blur toot....

i have no idea why my eyes were that big lar!!! but then...

i suppose i looked kinda cute sia!!! ( lol!!! zi4 kwa1... praising

oneself) i may have looked through the album many many

times liaoz but this time, i noticed how innocent i looked,

especially after seeing so many babies around me!!!

this looks interesting!!! if you look very closely, this contraption

is actually modified from a wooden stool!!! I suppose last time

we had 2 modify a lot of things to save money... but hey!!! this

idea is pretty smart!!! i really did not really believe my parents

when they say that i smile and laugh non-stop when i was a baby!!!

even when they tried to poke me and tried to make me cry...( i

suppose that is y i did not really believe them... which parent would

wanna make their baby cry and throw a tantrum and irritate the

hell out of everyone's mind with that bloody loud wailing only a baby

can produce...) quoting what they say... i just couldnt cry.... so they

thought that i was born a happy person.....well i suppose that is good...

just that i don't know why i just started crying more when i grew outta

the baby stage..... i think this picture is simply one of those many

moments that i smiled and laughed and make the people around super

happy!!!

i really do laugh and smile a lot when i was still a baby....

perhaps i still do not know the cruelty of the world yet...

i was still very innocent and pure at that moment of time...

my mind was also very simple at that period of time tooo.....

sleeping and eating and playing only!!!

MY 1ST BIRTHDAY!!!!

accompanied by my siblings and my mother and my cousins!!

well... dont i just look so happy to see my 1st birthday cake!!!

( stressing on the word: MY!!!!) i suppose you could describe

me as totally ignorant to the surroundings and the occasion!!!

or.... i simply bochup the historical benchmark of my life,

signifying that i have survived through 1 year of life... so i

think i will be able to live to at least the age of 2 ( DUH!!!! if

not right!!! who the hell could be typing at this very moment

huh?!?!?! for those who even think of the possibility that i

could pass away between my 1st and 2nd birthday.... good luck

on your intelligence.....) and hey!!! how come they gave me a

10 year old candle for my 1 year old birthday!?!?!! does that

mean that i have skipped 9 years of my life and went straight to

the age of ten!?!?! but it is pretty creative though!!! that is petty

much on my babyhood i guess.... i think there isnt much to talk

bout ones babyhood other thatn we eat and sleep and crave for

lots of attention!!!!

this was when i was 4 years old!!! and that was my room before

renovation and moving anywhere!!!! when i was young, i used to

share room together with my brother and sister!!! and my parents

would just sleep in the next room connected directly with a door

to this room... I was always wondering why cant i sleep on the upper

level of the double decker bed.... i suppose it is becos i was the

youngest and it is too dangerous for me to sleep so high above the

ground... but as we grew up, we started to shift to different rooms

and we have a room all by ourselves!!! with a bathroom attached

somemore!!! during this age, i think i went to kindergarden already!!

and that is the uniform of the kindergarden!!! blue!!!! yes... my

looked really bare back then!!! plus it was before renovation... so

most of us dont have many things to put around!!!

Believe it or not.... this was me when i was very young... at

what age i do not remember.. but yes!!! i was that skinny once

before... before i totally blew up!!!! i just dont remember what

happened to me... i dont know why i just blew up to an enormous

size!!! but man!!! boy do i miss that figure of mine!!!! and that

face shape!!! man.... perhaps people should be more consious of

their figure from when they are a baby or when they leave their

babyhood!!!!

MY 8TH BIRHTDAY!!!!

as you can see from this picture.... i have started the process

of blowing up to an gargantuan size!!!! the journey to become a

sumo wrestler!!! and up to now... i still have the memory of this

birthday in my mind!!! the reason why i still remember this

birthday is because the shirt!!!! the shirt is just bloody uncomfortable

!!! i remember myself making a very big noise on the black color

T-shirt!!!! as most of you all out there know, black is just simply easier

to absorb heat... and i am not a very hot blooded person.... so with

the factor of singapore hot weather, the shirt was just simply

uncomfortable!!!! this memory is 1 of the earlier memories in my mind..

the earliest i suppose is my 1st experience with snow... and i remember

that i was wearing a red color jacket!!! and i threw snow over my sisters

head!!! it is amazing how i managed to remember all these things huh?

SECONDARY!!!

well... my secondary school life was not a very happening period

for me lar... cos the school culture did not fit me plus i did not have

too many friends in school .... so basically my secondary school life

is mostly spent at home.. but hey.. i still got some pictures of my

secondary school life... i reached my maximum weight and size in

secondary 4!!! just right before i went to VJC!!!!

ok.... the following pictures may be a shock to those that do not

know what i look like in the past.....

graduating photo!!!! my weight then was 110kg!!!!! pretty

terriffying huh!?!?!?! i think so as well.... i was looking back at

these pictures when i was still very fat..... i had a shock man!!!!

i know that i was fat then!!! but never did i temember me being so

fat before.....

this was a picture of me during my 16th birthday in the

year 2001.... it is just 10 days after the september 11 event!!!

man do i look big man!!!! well.. i think you can call me........

big......man......!!!!terrifying huh?!?!!?!

and most of the pictures i took, i took it with food!!!!!

i was taking this picture with a super long sandwich in my hands!!!

and my appetite was humongous at that period of time!!! during this

time...... i was eating 2 1 foot sanwich !!!! together with a big packet

of lays potato chips and a big bottle of coke!!!! i suppose that really

explains why i grew to this size already!!!! my parents were trying

their very best to convince me to lose weight you know!!!! and at that

period of time, i was proud to say that my weight was .11 ton...... (-_-")

it is truly scary to think back like this.... the only reason why i lost

weight was because i kanna food poisoning from eating 2 big platter of

seafood.....and it was during this trip as well... this was during the period

of dec 2001...i suppose i got the food poisoning at the right period of time...

because after this right, i lost appetite for 2 weeks!!!! and during this 2

weeks, i ran and jogged and played lot of sports... mainly it is because i

jogged at least 2 km everyday....this resulted in me losing 25kg in the

first 3 months in VJC!!! unbelivable right!!!!

this is what i look like in JC.. although this is to the end of my

journey in VJC... this is the prom night liaoz!!!! =(:-p) with my

good friend kerf beside me!!!! plus due to the A's, i put on a little

weight!!! cos no time to exercise lar... all the time i got i have

devoted to studying.... but apparently it is not hard enough....

cos i only got a A B B and a B3 for GP.... but it is still thinner

compared to after the 'O' levels

ok... perhaps this is a more accurate picture because i took this

at the start of year 2.. in 2003....this is when we were having our

juniors treat us!!!! it was at marine cove.. gurame!!!! can you spot

me in this picture?!?!? although i am still the fattest in this picture

lar!!! but give face lehz......

ok... i gotta specify.... as much as i dislike serving my national

service..... i still pretty much liek the bunch of friends that i have

made during this period of time!!! and these are 2 of them!!!

hey... teh one on the right is my buddy!!! despite his stupid looking

face in this picture, he is 1 bloody smart dude man!!! i figure he will

be 1 of those CEOs in the future!!!! that can make lotsa money!!!

i took this one during the tokyo trip!!!! i was skiing here!!!

man do i like skiing lor!!!! maybe because singapore dont have

a winter season over there......

Well!!! i will try to lose more weight and look thinner!! i am hoping

that i will lose a lot of weight when i go overseas to study!!!!

I CAME..I SAW... I PLAYED!!!!
JAPAN TRIP WAS GREAT SIA!!!

I was in Japan from the 25th to the 31st but technically

speaking... i was there from the 26th!!! boxing day!!!

so basically.. my christmas present was the japan trip!!!

hey i had a lot of fun sia... let me start with the fact that my

family is very strange when it comes to flying to other countries..

firstly... my mom and dad cannot share the same plane becos

of insurance.. reduced chance that both may lose their

life if the plane crash.. ( touchwood arh!!!! it cannot happen)..

den me and my brother cannot be on the smae flight... so that

at least 1 will still be alive.. same reason ( and same touchwood)

...that leaves with my sister.... she can share the plane with any1

else in the family with out any arangement( so basically she is

so called leat valued lar.. but hell no.. she gets more privillege den

either of us... so she usually goes with my mom...and in theory...

me and my brother cannot share the same flight as my parents..

so basically.. 5 members in the family must take 4 different flights

to the same destination... but this time we didnt really give to much

a damm bout it... so in the end i took de same flight as my mom...

so 5 members of the family took 3 different flights.... den when we

reached japan...due to different interest... we went on separte ways

visit our places of interest... and my dad... stayed in the hotel to do

his work.... so 5 members of family... took 4 different approach to

visit japan... my sis and my mom went shopping.... i went disney and

skiied.... my bro went to visit places... and my dad stayed in the hotel

to work.. so basically he is something like watch guard of all our items..

but we will meet up for dinner and walk around after dinner together..

funny right!!! so basically... we have 5 members in our family...who

took 3 different flights to narita airport... and then we went on 4

different route of approach to visit japan.... weird huh?!?!?! ...so

basically ever since sec 3... my family never shared the same plane

together again.... ok so over the 5 days i spent in japan... i sorta

put it into a diary form where i will say what i will do each day...

OK... so basically i took off on christmas night at bout 11.40pm

lar... and i slept thru the whole journey to japan... it was a nice flight..

nothing happened... but den i hate the smell of airplane... especially

when they are trying ot prep the food.... so i didnt try out the

krisworld games or movies... kinda sadz rite!! but then must save

the energy for the trip lar...especially i just came back from the

christmas chalet in teh afternoon... so basically i was shagged out

from all the programme...

DAY 1 ( 26 dec )

KK... i touched down in japan and we went to stay at this service

apartment....( fully equipped with a kitchen and everything..)....

called somerset roppongi.... this is my 1st trip to japan in 20 years

so everything was very interesting!!!! i was also amazed at the

price of the coca-cola there..... it is super expensive lar.... it is like

150 yen for just 1 can of drink.... which is eqiuvalent to about $2.30...

singapore dollars..... this is a lot for a can of drink... what they say

about japan is very true...it is a very expensive country... the formula

for tranferring back to singapore dollars is something like

the price in yen
--------------------- X 15 = price in singapore dollars
1000

which means virtually everything there is very expensive...

when we get there... we took some time 2 take some pictures

of ourselves...

thats my bro, sis and my mom.... apparently, we got a seven eleven

store downstairs.... so we can go and get lotsa food!!! and the bento

are served in the store!!!! juz go down choose... warm it up and den

can eat liaoz!!!

thats me!!!!! amazed at the 1st item i bought in japan.... at

harajuku !!!! it is this jacket which cost me bout 4000yen !!!!

it is really expensive... but not choice... i was desperate....cos

i underestimated the weather over there!!! it was bloody

cold!!! i brought only 1 set of warm clothing there... and that is

definitely not enough!!!! i was shivering!!!! with the wind and

everything!!!! the only purpose on the 1st day was to get to

somewhere with heater... preferrably a really big heater!!!

we had ra men for dinner!!! wah it is super nice sia!!!! it is the

best i have ever had!!!! it is very much better than the ones i

tried in singapore!!!! plus the cold weather and the hot soup

and noodles!!!! slurping and eating!!!! dats super shiok!!!!!

with a bottle of asahi beer by the side!!! wah!!!! no wonder

i put on weight this hols!!! the japs seriously know how to enjoy

life!!!

since the weather was so cold.. i wanted to have a hot shower....

but den it would be really painful on my sun burnt shoulders...

but taking a cold shower i would freeze sia.. so i was in a dilema

of using cold or hot water lar... cos the result would be either i

freeze or get a super painful shower...

DAY 2 ( 27 dec )

Day 2!!!! we had to wake up bloody early in the morning today

sia!!! cos we wanted to go and see the fishermen auction and bid

the tuna sia!!! or rather big fish....

yupz!!! dats ur sashimi or sushi to you!!!!! it is all frozen

up and people are armed with sickles to hack the fish to see

if they are still fresh!!! we wanted to go there early to see the

fisherman and fishmongers bid for the fish!!! so we woke up

at around 4.45 am in the morning...and we reached the place

at around 6 am in the morning... you've gotta believe that japs

crazy enough to wake up at 5 something in the morning to go

to work..... so anyway.....

all these people are actually bidding for the frozen fish on

the ground...and man are they loud!!!! and if they do this

everyday, i will be impressed!!!! i juz shout like this for bout

an hour and my voice will go soar for bout a week!!! MAN!!!

that place is bloody fishy!!! it is a fish market for goodness sake!!

lol...apparently from what i have heard... those fish dont come

cheap!!!!

after they are finished bidding for the fish... i drag the fish

back to their store well dey will den defrost it!!! with such a

fish.... it is bloody hard to defrost!!! especially in winter... but

then somehow they managed to defrost it!!!! these fish are

super heavy sia... with their weight equivalent to the weight

of a person.... but it is interesting to watch them cut it up you

know!!!! they are armed with a lot of equipment just to cut up a

fish!!! i just spent like half an hour there staring at them... watching

them cut the fish up... it is more like mutilating the fish.....into

smaller parts!!!

they will cut it into half!!! and boy is that cut 1 smooth cut...

dat my dear viewers.... is ur sashimi.. sushi... or whatever

dat you are eating!!!!

well if you are not a very fish person!!!! you can always help

yourself to the fresh fresh seafood in the market... althought

it is a called a fish market.. it still gotta have some seafood!!!

look at the big crabs and prawns... slurp slurp!!!!! i am feeling

hungry!!! but i shall control my diet.... for i am a person that can

kanna food poisoning from eating mass amount of raw fish....

i even have a phobia about eating raw fish before!!!

there are a lot of cute little vehicles liek this in the market to

ferry the fish aound or something like that!!!! and man are they

noisy!!!! and kinda dun give way oso.. in the end.. it takes a police

officer to control the traffic flow of these contraptions!!! I was

almost knocked down 2 times by these machines sia... mainly due to

my carelessness... but still... dere was the urge to shout some

vulgarities together wif the pointing of the famous finger!!! but i

managed to suppress the temptation in time!!

thats me and my mom in the fish market... frankly speaking..

i wanna walk on in the market but then the cold and crowd in

the market discourage me from doing so... so i just gotta resign

to my fate and ask my family if we could go..... so!! we went

for a breakfast nearby!!!!

sushi breakfast!!!!!! it is seiously nice sushi... if a person who

does not like fish can fancy these sushi... then it must be

super nice right!?!?!?! and that person happened to be ME!!!!

yar.. i noe... i dun look like i dun eat fish.... but in this case....

i was seriously outta choice.. it is between whether i eat or not!!

but the sushi is really fantasitic!!! the really fresh sushi from the

market!!!! HEAVENLY!!!! when we got out.... the place started to

have a queue!!

well after breakfast.. my family ge4 zhou3 ge3 de4..... so we

(so called) parted ways and went about our own programme...

my dad went back to the hotel, my sis mom and bro went shopping

in shibuya while i went to disney land and sea!!! it is 2 different

theme parks!!!! and i gotta travel a long long way 2 get there....

not that i am minding them... but i kinda got lost halfway... where

i ahd no idea where de hell i was... cos i couldnt see the disney resort..

so i was planning on getting off at the next stop and get back on the

opposit direction train!!! but guess what !!!! when i got got off.... i saw

" WELCOME TO DISNEY RESORT" !!! wah... man am i lucky!!!

this is what i saw when i got to the main entrance....

A BLOODY LONG QUEUE!!!

it was the 27th and i thought that every1 will go back to

work since the hols have ended.. but man was i wrong... the

japs are really determined to enjoy themselves during this

period... i was shocked when i saw this... cos that means that i

have to queue up right behind them..... i had to quietly queue

up behind them....not that i minded though since it was the

winter period and it is not hot.. so i am fine with it!!! when the

park opens at 9am..... all the japanese run into the park sia!!!

and i do mean run!!!! holding on to their kids and run in!!!! i still

have no idea why they did that but i seriously seeno point in that...

unless they are more kiasu then singaporeans lar... then that is

understandable... and all the rides need to have at 1 hour standby

time... i couldnt wait.. plus all the rides are bloody childish and

uninteresting.... so i decided to leave disney land for disney sea in the

end....

this was what the entrance look like!!! it actually look like a

global being supported by the upward thrust of the water

fountain.... and this fountain have some time frames where

there will be water spurting everywhere... and that is cool

man!!!! at least the rides here are more interesting!!! the

buildings here are built using the british colonial buildings as a

theme.... and they have a super big boat that looks like titanic...

whihc i snamed the columbia....

of course i gotta take a picture with 1 of the mascots of disney!!

there were a lot of people in waiting to take a photo with goofy!!!

and they were all children speaking japanese 2 goofy!!!! i think

goofy was shocked when i went up 2 take a pic!!! plus i was 1 of

the last too.. since every1 cut queue!!!! cos i have no idea how to

speak japanese to goofy!!!! so i dunnoe how to tell goofy i wanna

take a picture with him!!!...... 1 thing i would like to comment bout

disney land staff is that they are all very friendly!!!! their motto is

serve with a smile!!! and they really do serve with a smile!!!always!!

i would like to stay in disney land for a longer period of time but

cannot lar.. i got a dinner appointment with one of my dads frens..

so basically we gotta take the train an d bus there lar!!! and boy

i got confused sia!!!! the japanese can make everything very efficient!!

but not without getting the person confused 1st!!! in the end when

we reached, the other party haven reached yet.. from what i heard is

becos they were expecting us 2 get lost!!!..... but during the time when

we were waiting for them... it doesnt hurt to take some pics rite!!!!?!?!

thats me n my mom!!! she was kinda lazy to get off her chair

so i had to go over and take the photo with her...

thats my bro and sis man!!!! they are 1 bunch of cool dudes!!!

never fail to make me laugh!!!!

So when the other party finally arrived, we went to this restaurant

that specializes in only tofu... so i had cold tofu, hot tofu, sticky 1, hard

ones....all sorts.... and they made it themselves...on their own and from

the scratch somemore...

one of the more ancient way of boiling water with teh burning coal

underneath the kettle!!! but of course the restaurant is not primitive

until that state lar!!! although the say they are an authentic japanese

restaurant but they still use modern technology like the stove!!! the

restaurant is filled with individual rooms.... like this 1...

we had our dinner in this room sia!!! with a really beautiful landscape

outside the room...( somehow i think the landscape is artificially made

one.. but who cares!??!?!)..outside too dark so cannot take pictures lar

..... this restaurant is so popular that they need a 1 month booking!!!

wow!!! and they will call you up to confirm your reservation on that day!!!!

this is the bunch of people that we had dinner with!!! they are really

hospitable sia!!! keep asking us to eat more!!!! after the dinner....

i really felt super sleepy liaoz... and still have to take the train!!!

luckily they offered to drive us back!!!

DAY 3 & 4 ( 28 & 29 dec )

basically i did the same things for these 2 days!!! i went to karuizawa to

ski and snowboard!! the last time i actually touched a ski or a snowboard

is like 3 years ago!!! i cannot believe that i can still play those sports!!!

i had to wake up at 5.30am each morning to be in time for the shinkasen

bullet train servie from tokyo to karuizawa!!! it was bloody shag for me...

so basically i haven been able to sleep much during these 2 days!!! and

waking up in the morning is torturous for me... i dunnoe why but then

the temptation to sleep is too great in winter... i had a hard time trying to

wake up lehz... but the effort made was well worth for....cos i get to see

a snow mountain!!!! and ski on it somemore!!!!

i had to take this bullet train to the mountain everyday!!! it takes

2 hrs there and 2 hrs back.. so basically it is a long wait in the train!!!

and the train is super fast!!! they say that is can go beyond 300km/h

and there is 1 now that can even go past 500km/h... now that is really

fast!!!!! any faster and i think they can create a sonic boom!!!! going

at mach 1 !!!!!!!! the price for a 1 way ticket is bout 5k yen!!!!

this is what it is like in the cabin!!! i had to wait for the train to stop

before i can even take the picture!!!! the camera is not fast enough to

capture the background in the window when the train is moving.... cos

it is simply moving too fast!!! the picture will be blurred!!!! thats how

fast the train was moving!!!!! i would usually sleep during this part of the

journey but apparently on the second day, i overslept and missed

karuizawa by 1 stop.... sia lah.... die lar.... i had to wait bout an hour for the

returning train to come before i can return there!!!! 1 tip!!!! dont really fall

asleep in the train!!! it can become quite troublesome!!!

this is the mountain that i skiied on!!!! i was amazed that they have a

system for night skiing!!! i was surprised!!! i never see this kinda stuff

happening before!!! likein this picture.. the light dots are actually flood

lights!! this is the prince snow resort ski area!!! the snow is not enough

and too wet but beggars cant be choosers.... so this area is good enough!!

looks professional sia!!

there are quite a lot of people in this area.. resulting in me crashing into

more than 3 people when i was snowboarding... that is really painful...

that is 1 bad thing bout a really crowded slope... so in the end... i had

no choice but to go to a more difficult slope to leave the majority of the

crowd!!!

i had to take this chair lift up to the top.. and as you can see there is not

much snow here!!! but still this have to do it!!! i am hoping that there will

be a blizzard soon!!! so that there will be more slopes opened to the public!!

this is one of the hardest slopes in teh hole resort!!! and it took me almost

half a day to look for it!!!! the only good thing is dat it is not crowded... the

bad thing is that is closes at 3.30 pm .... in he end i had to leave before i had

enough fun!!!

look like much but then it is really steep.. okok.. i am not professional to

take a photo of its terror!!! but trust me on this!!! it is really steep!!!!

1 wrong move and thats it!!!! you will roll downhill ( damm you if you are

thinking about it would be funny for me to roll down hil!l!! den perhaps

create a huge snowball!!! followed by the earthquake and the avanlache!!!

lol...) i was shaking at the edge of the slope!!! it is 1 hell of a steep slope!!!

well thats me on the summit of the mountain.. if you look at the background..

there is no snow!!!! i suppose that this is either the only mountain that has

ever snowed or the staff went to produce snow!!!

this is what we all called a snowball!!! ( not the alcholic cocktail lar!!!)

hiaz.. got snowball but no snowball fight.. sadz... must ahve a snowball

fight next time when i go USA to study!!! Well... after the skiing, i had

to go back to have dinner together with my family!!! on the 1st night

we had sushi dinner!!!! i can now understand why the japanese like raw

fish that much!!!! it is actually oashi das!!!

we were wactually deciding to go to the tokyo towers !!! but we saw

this car garage and got very interested by the way they get the car

out.... we actually wanted to climb in and take the picture but den we

thought it was too risky so we juz took it outside..... if you noticed..

there is oso cars on the top storey of the machine!!! isnt it odd?!?!?!

we still managed to continue our journey to the tokyo towers.... i

always thought that it has a very wide space in front of the tower..

apparently i was wrong... there is hardly any space and there is a

cemetry nearby as well.... we actually wanted to take a pic with the

christams tree... but the japanese were very efficient.... they took

it away 2 days after christmas ended... sadz.... didnt get to take the

picture oso.....

dont all this food look great and very appetising!!! i have got to

hand it to these people!!! they cant really package the product

and the food quality is oso very high!!! they are very good at

making a huge profit margin as well!!! any1 of these food cost

at least 500 yen!!! and even more!!! the entire floor is all about

selling food!!! looking at this picture always makes me hungry

and crave for food!!!! why cant we have these in singapore as

well!!! my sis and my mom went to buy these back to have it as

the dinner!!!!! all the food are really delicious sia!!! i suddenly

realised that i have a fetish for japanese food.. and while writting

this blog... i have realised how much i miss japan.... other than the

language barrier, the others are excellent... service to food, weather

to entertainment!

here is us eating our dinner!!!! we nearly finished everything before

my bro came back.... his timing is very accurate sia!!!! he can come

and still eat to his fill!!! think we bought too much anyway... the dinner

consist of:

yakitori
beef bento
tempura
rice rolls( a lot of flavours that cannot be found in singapore)
claypot chicken japanese style

after the 29th dinner.... we went to roppongi hills to walk walk...

but den dunnoe why.. we ended up goin into the observatory to

wtach the tokyo night life.... mind you... it is super chio lar!!!!!

into this place is bout 1k yen liaoz... expensive but worth the money..

DAY 5 (30 dec )

thought that today i can sleep until very late since i haven been sleeping

much during the past few days.. especially during the days where i had

the chalet.... but nooo..... i was awakened at bout 8.... to go shopping...

and since i haven go the chance to go shopping for the last few days.. i thought

that this would be my last chance.. so i went to GAP in shibuya!!! bought

1 T-shirt n 1 jeans!!!! den i went hard rock tokyo to but 2 shirts!!!

apparently it is not dat cold towards the end cos there is no wind....

so in the end... i took out 1 layer of jacket and went around walking like

dat.. wihtout zipping the outer layer!!!! it is sucha fine weather lar...

the pic is taken near the hotel... in roppongi....apparently there are quite

a few clubs in teh area.. so it gets pretty noisy at night... in singapore..

bouncers stand at the door only to check the IDs... here.. they act as pimps

to attract customers... they are kinda scary... cos the clubs looks very

dodgy.. unlike singapore....

my sis went to get a cup of tully's coffee which is simply great!!!

drinking hot coffee in a cold weather is one of the best feelings

in the world!!!! apparently.. her hands got really cold and she is

trying to get soem warmth from the cup.... wow... i miss another

cup of tully's coffee... i wonder if it is de coffee dat is dat great or the

feeling of drinking hot drink in winter dat enhanced the taste of the

coffee!!!! anyway the way dat my sister was approaching us was kinda

funny!!! cos it looked as if it was garfield trying 2 get something outta u...

AND THE STUFF I MISSED OUT!!!

think this is in asakusa!!!! thats a temple btw..... apparently i didnt go

there to visit!!!!! hmm... maybe 5 days in japan is a little to short do

a lot of stuff.. my bro came here but not meeee~~ hiaz... sadz.... miss

out on so many things...

i touched down in singapore on 31st morning!!! right after i unpacked

and dealt with a few stuff... i had to book in to do my COS duty!!!

SOB SOB!!!!! i had 2 countdown in camp lehz... how sad is dat lor....

but i really had a lot of fun in this trip.. a short vacation like this is

superb lor.... we had lotsa fun and laughter and given a chance.. i will

come back again.... now broke liaoz... think i spent a little too much on

there... came backa little fatter... gotta go shed those pounds man!!!!

wah lauz..... after getting back from malaysia....

rest for bout 2 hours like that then gotta go for clubbing

with friends.... how the hell did i do it sia!!!! the flight back

from KL was bloody full... and the flight was super hot

throughout the journey back... think it is caused by the

over generation of heat from the people in the plane...

such that the heat will warm the cool air from the air

conditioning.. hence causing the plane to be hotter...

( what the hell am i crapping about?!?!?! it is starting not

to make any sense at all already!!!!)

Anyway... I promised Nat a drink that night or maybe her

self proclaimed 4...... she is one hell of a good negotiator sia...

from promised 1 go to 4.... but in the end.. cos the place was

so crowded so we didnt manage to party together.... breaking

contact with each other will take easily about half an hour

to recover each other....

anyway....this is how we look last night outside zouk...

the queue was bloody long and because of me... nat had

to join the long queue.. cos i didnt chio her to get the chop

together with me at 8pm.... so in the end... i managed to

get in without queueing up while nat had to wait outside...

ok lar.. i am not that bad... i got go out to accompany her

a while and oso take a picture of ourselves... this is the 1st

time we club together lor.. so muz enjoy ourselves mah....

and guess who i met there as well!!!!

SHARON!!!! wah it has been like ages since we last saw

each other... since my prom i suppose.... after that i dun

think we met liaoz bah.... she was there with zhebin and

and i suppose she was with nat as well.... cos she was oso

lining up together with her.... but hey!!! she looks like she

she is doing quite well right now!!! studying in NTU!!!

I felt a little malu.... every body dress until so nice but den

i dress like shit like dat.... everyone seems to know how to

dance but den i was just shaking up and down on the dance

floor.....hiaz... in short.... it was an embarrassment for me...

Well... at least i went with weihong and chian lih!!! which we

lost each other for a few times.... well..we decided to try out

this drink called brown cow... which taste suspiciously like

chocolate milk lar.... and since we lost chianlih from almost

the beginning... so basically we helped ourselves to the drinks

lar... de 1st cup was not bad.... but as you carry on to the

subsequent cups... the taste of the milk and the alcohol in this

drink just simply dont mix well... you just feel like puking....

within the time period of 11.30pm to 4 am in the morning...

where i spent my time in zouk and phuture.... i encountered

5 pukings.. of which 1 almost hit me.... , and 1 fight in phuture...

or wat i think is a fight bah.... cos suddenly all the bouncers in

the phuture bar started rushing to a common spot pushing the

people away and heck care anything else...... quite a interesting

night...

i suspect... but from the shagness of dancing all night...

and felt a little crazy... and of course sweaty.....

i think after everyone come out, they just look for a convenient

spot.. bent over... and.................

PUKE!!!

cos we came across a few puddles of vomit outside.... and what

is the most logical explantion wher the vomit come from?!?!?

i just leave it to your superb and intelligent brain yar?!?!!

Anyway.. we came back and i found out that midnight surcharges

actually mean additional 50% of your total surcharges.... bloody

expensive sia....we didnt sleep...and i still manage to compete dota

with weihong sia!!! and watch a little naruto too!!! den all of a sudden..

i just concuss......i have no idea what i did after that but when i woke

up... weihong was already sleeping on the sofa liaoz.... so basically i

spent most of the day sleeping lorz.....

have to prepare for tomorows chalet liaoz..... think we are goin MOS..
